Re: Flashing hitachi with flax

The 2nd rig I use for flashing is nforce 4 but for me to do this I had to uninstall the nividia drivers and let windows install the standard drivers for this to work.

2x SATA and 1x IDE ports

None RAID

Thisl Serial-ATA (SATA) controller card is designed for adding 2 SATA hard drive and 2 IDE hard drive.
Chipset: VIA VT6421L
2/1/0, and PIO mode 4/3/2/1/0
Supports PCI Plug and Play. PCI interrupt sharing and coexists with main board IDE controller

VIA VT6421L if this isnt the right card for my hitachi 0059DJ 3120L
Dvd rom please let me know admin.I hope I purchased the correct card.Is there anything else i should know I saw some post about hexing the card.
Is this all i need?

Im just throwing this out there(i couldnt see it in your pictures)

I think you need to use the molex power from the pc to power the blaster. Then you use the modeb button on the blaster to put the drive into modeb.

I do not have a blaster but i have look at it and it seems thats how its supposed to work.

EDIT: now that i watched your video i see that you are powering it with molex power cord. Just use the modeb button on the blaster. And make sure you have that little swith(for samsungs) disabled.

I might be wrong, but, I thought the 360 blaster modeb switch was for if you want to put it into modeb AFTER it's been flashed?? ie same as power cycle with the tray open put's into modeb without hooking it back up to the PC. I'm sure you have to flash it properly first then use the 360 modeb switch for updates etc. Personally I would try it without the 360 blaster first.

Remove the blaster and do it via Textbooks tutorial. get the drive into modeb and flash it. You don't actually need the blaster to flash.

Try this:
Once you get to the login bit on the slax cd type the login and password that it gives you then type "reboot" (without quotes) leaving your 360 connected to the pc and powered on, as your pc reboots it will eject the tray, quickly grab the slax cd before the tray closes then once it boots up you should see your 360 drive in "my computer".

It worked for me.

Let us know how you get on.
