Ive been out of the modding scene for some time but i thought this summer i'd try modding my first slim unfortunately im stuck with a hitachi which i found out is not moddable yet and this leaves me to this other liteon drive. Winbound hack will be needed as it reads 05 on the chip. Have everything plugged in using ck3 pro and usb pro, flashing on windows 7 labtop. first thing is first before i make my mark i updated the slim on xbox live then i tried to retrieve the key but thats where im stuck. Drive is identified when i start JF, i click slimkey-->No and yes for the power cycle but im getting slim key failed. Pretty sure i've know how to cycle the drive so what else could be causing this?

how can M$ screw you ? they sold you the console with the intentions you was intending to play orignal games.. CFW or RGH is a bonus if your able to do it with your console.. your not one of those 14 year old pirates are you ? lol

actually im not pissed off because i bought these during christmas so whether i sell them modded or not i'd still be making a few bucks. If i buy a box of cracker jacks i expect a prize, M$ provided me with a box with a mail in offer(guess ill have to wait or just sell them). Just opened the 3rd slim and its 0405 fw so guess ill continue where i left off.

should i continue or stop? I'm not putting any pressure just letting the weight do that for me but after 4min i'm feeling very paranoid about going further into it. I'm using the drill bit that came with the maximus template

Assuming you are drilling in the correct place (the template is pretty accurate), JungleFlasher will beep once the drive's SPI is unlocked successfully (AS SOON AS YOU HEAR THE BEEP - STOP!).

However, since you haven't got 3.3v connected, I recommend taking it very slowly so you don't drill too far which would result in you going too deep, severing the wrong wire.

EDIT: which drive are you working with by the way?

I've just read that the drill bit with the maximus is simply for marking and not for drilling. should i check the hobby store for something smaller or even pick up an exacto knife? Also in some cases could JF not beep, which would have me to power cycle every couple turns?
