I'm probably being thick but I'm having trouble flashing a new EEProm on my X3 modded 1.6.

I FTP the eeprom.bin to admin\eeprom
Then select 'restore xbox eeprom from X3'
When I look at the hardware info it simply lists the old ID.

The eeprom is an NTSC because I thought I could hack it to PAL using config magic, only to find config magic doesn't work on 1.6's, is this the problem ?

Any help gratefully accepted.

did you try adding the new eeprom using config magic?

Conifg magic doesn't work on 1.6 box's apparantly !

Interesting I've spoken noticed 3 people get the same eeprom id in their x3data.txt is this a bug or have we been conned by some eeprom seller ?

OK found something called eeprom magic that allowed me to do it, back on live now aswell.

Looks like the X3 builtin stuff for flashing EEProm and the info page doesn't work, at least not on a 1.6. At least three people I know alll have the same EEProm ID, and mine hasn't changed after flashing my new prom

A lil off topic, but i was just reading this post and was curious. Why would someone want or need to modify the Eeprom. Im kinda new to the scene and i was just curious what all the talk about modding the EEprom and or TSOP was all about. Is the EEprom the same as the TSOP?

Thanks guys!

Hey,

I have a Liteon 7 and was wondering what people experience is with LT thus far? Xbox Live safe? Was it hard to flash to LT more so than previous versions.

Re: Anyone tested LT?

Yes, tested!, no problems (personally, also 7xxxx LiteOn) tho some 7xxxx drives are being reported as having difficulties reading disks. So far Live safe! as easy to flash as any previous fw.
Warning tho - once flashed with LT - you cannot use probe to retrieve key/drive info!
So SAVE YOUR FW when you dump it!

Hmm, Interesting indeed!

I may have to flash my stock liteon 7 to LT to test it out, I've been waiting it out for a few months now. Looks like im heading to Walmart this weekend!

if you buy one this weekend you will most likely get an 838v2 or 9 and need to do the MRA hack
