GENERAL Flashing Noob

Hi

I've previously sent my Phat Xbox (LITEON 16D2S) away to be flashed.

I am now getting a mega bundle to include the XB360USB Pro, CK3i, Probe 3.

I've read all guides and information and just have a few questions, I really wouldn't post questions without being 100% sure I couldnt find them easily online.

Firstly - I plan on flashing using a laptop, I do not have a molex power cable. Do I just need to buy an external power supply?

Secondly - As it was flashed elsewhere, I do not have my dummy.bin, looking at the guide I can just create a dummy bin so long as I have verified keys, is this literally a case of using jungleflasher to make a new one?

From there after flashing to stock, I can just boot the xbox, update, and then go back to flashing it to 3.0 when it comes out?

And finally, when this new 3.0 comes out, my current backups wont work anymore? I will need to patch and burn with new patches released?

1) yes just get from eBay for a fiver
2) yes just click phatkey in JF and use probe for new Dummy.bin
3) yes spot on
4) no only ap25 or xdg3 if you dont know whAt they are then yes

Hope u cleared up a bit for you if u have any more questions post And I'll try my hardest to answer em.

Just one final thing, noting what I want to do, flash back to stock and reflash firmware, can I buy a USB to Molex 5v, apparently you need a 12v line to eject, but with what I need to actually do, can I use that?

So only AP25 and XDG3 will need to be reburned, my other non AP25 and XDG3 will be ok?

yes.... http://www.xconsoles.com/products/Xecuter-USB-to-MOLEX-5V-Power-Cable.html . If you use the probe 3 , no need to eject the drive.

Personally m8, I would buy the molex with it's own adapter and plug. They are only cheap and you keep it seperate from the laptop. I have used one since about 2007
