I am trying to flash the new 2913 bios over the old 1959 bios in the same bank. I have never flashed over a bios so I am trying to figure out if you just set your switches to the bank that has the 1959 bios and flash over or do you have to do something else?

I flashed the 5-6-7-8 bank with the new bios it seems to be working fine but if it screws up you can always be sure you can go back to the 1959 bios on the 1-2-3-4 banks so you can still use your xbox until a fix is published. BTW for some reason I had ALOT of problems trying to flash to the 5-6-7-8 banks until I checked the tuts for proper dipswitch placement 1-off 2-on 3-off 4-off and ALSO nothing worked until I plugged my OEM controller into my xbox!
Wher do I go to install the 2913 bios? I want to try and copy over the 1234 banks. When you first flash the chip You chose the option to select flash over the network and it gave you an ip address to go to. Now that you don't have that where do you go?
Press your Eject button and Power button at the same time to load your Backup flash.
You should see the familiar FlashBios screen.

Guys I am having a real problem here. I have flashed plenty of boxes just fine but this is the first time I have come across this. I had the 1959 bios on my xbox and had it on the 5678 bank, so I tried to falsh the 1234 bank with the 2913 bios but when I did it said unknown flash and halting. So I tried to flash my backup bios on the 5678 bank and it started to flash then froze, now it frags 3 times. So I tried to put the old 1959 back on 1234 and the 5678 banks and nothing happens I don't know what to do. It starts just fine with the chip off.
I also have the cromwell 3.0.0 flash bios on my 1.6 not 1.6b. should I update to the 3.0.1 and if so do I flash it in the 1234 or 5678 bank? Or should it be done in 256k instead of 1MB?

I have a 1.6 and X3 1959 V16, and I just added the 2913 V16 with no problem.
Burnt the 2913_v16 + a 1mb dummy BIN. Then booted the backup bios (eject+power), changed my switches to off on off off, flashed bios via disc, and she's runnin' fine.
The Xbins rar file comes with 2 BIN files. If you have a 1.6 xbox make sure you use the V16 BIN, not the other one.

it is also possible to login by FTP, go to the Admin directory and make a selection for which bank you want to use. Just upload the file (drag&drop) and the flashing starts automatically. PLEASE CHECK YOUR BIOS SIZE BEFORE UPLOADING/FLASHING
It also has some bugs. You cant switch back to the old default skin, and the Chokemans skin has a bug in it, it puts the sys temperature and ip as well as the time and cpu temp. on 1 line so you cant read it properly. I wanted to switch back until it is solved, but no way to switch it back

i was curious of where to download the new bios, because my friend always sends me it. also i can't flash my backup rom with the 2913.. because both the files are 1024k
they are supposed to be that size,.. the back-up bios (256) is for the actual flashbios not the X3 bios
