Flashing Problem [Fixed]

I received my xecuter 3 a few months ago and it's been working perfect - I flashed it, reflashed it and everything was great, until today that is when I tried to put on 1959.

Damn thing kept saying that flash protection was on. I quadruple checked the internal and external switch, even flickered them constantly thinking either wasn't contacting something inside. I even disconnected the cables from the mini front panel from underneath.

All to no avail of course, I was pissed. I know the chip registered that the panel wasn't connected because instantly my 1957 bios said that banks 1-8 are now selected as opposed to 1-4 when the panel was connected.

To my surprise, what the chip seemed to also register is a short along the black wire that must have told it to stay flash protected. So in the end, it was the damn black cable that was left connected to the chip! When I disconnected the black panel cable I was able to flash the chip no problem.

I wonder it's toast or if all it needs is a firm reconnection... we will find out in a few minutes.

In any case, I hope this helps someone with flashing problems when both switches are off. Make sure you totally disconnect the black cable throughout your diagnosis. :)

damn,

looks like my little black cable is mofo'd.

Whether the front panel is connected or not, as long as that cable is connected to the chip, I can't flash it.

Well atleast it's the cable and not the chip.

All I have to do now is disassemble the XBox everytime I want to flash it. yay.

I have it flashed with Evolution X M8 and it is booting and working fine, but when I got into the Flash Bios from the dashboard I get that message.

It told me halting flash in the flashbios and turn off write protection in the 1959 bios.

Got it. I thought I lost the default bios.
Once I got back in there and flashed with X3 and then it was smooth sailing..... :)

i have the same problem, it might be a stupid mistake on my part but i have read and reread the flashbios guide, checked with other offsite guides, checked the forums, checked xbox-scene forums, tried numerous things and nothing seems to work

is my chip fried or am i just a dumbass (im hoping im just a dumbass)

i have a 1.0 board, x3, all the latest bios' from xecuter AND evo, flashbios 3.0.0 which i also tried updating, tried this and it didnt work

it worked for 2 months before this and i tried another chip in this, so im pretty sure that its not the soldering

i turned it off and took it home from a friends house where it was working, and left it unplugged overnight and the bios was gone in the morning (i unno if the memory just reset or what, but now i cant seems to flash) and there where no big bumps or anything and i checked and rechecked all the soldering just in case i wasnt careful enough

how to update 1.4 ix hitachi 47 spoofed as sammy ms28

Hi All

Got an hitachi 47 running 1.4 ixtreme spoofed as an samsung ms28. I have borrowed a buddies ck3 pro and reading jf manual. I think it says I have to basically flash hitachi to stock, flash with hitachi+key and then spoof as sammy+key. But how do I get the spoofed sammy dvdkey? and I dont have the stock original hitachi firmware? Please assist? Do I need to use firmware toolbox?

Thanx in advance

Re: how to update 1.4 ix hitachi 47 spoofed as sammy ms28

use latest jungleflasher.
hitachi jungleflasher firmware pack needs to copied into firmware folder, this is essential for jf to manipulate the hitachi firmware.Everthing is done under the hitachi tab.
So mode b the drive( send mode b in jf)
read drive and save ofw,( this is just in case)
restore drive to stock,(restore in jf ,jf will choose the firmware to restore , key remains the same)
flashix(this will put ix back on the drive, key remains the same)
manual spoof to ms28 osig.(manual spoof in jf so it reports as ms28)
the key will not change in the above method , as key area remains untouched. So the sammy key still remains in drive.

Re: how to update 1.4 ix hitachi 47 spoofed as sammy ms28

thanx turny... so its basically like the steps in JF... was just worried about the key not being extracted... but you say JF takes care of everything... I can get my hands on a sammy ms28... maybe I should spoof the spoof to this for future updates...
