I have the X3CE installed, get the FlashBios screen, Burned the bios cd, Go to flash from CD/DVD in the menu and get a blue screen that says the DVD's name BIOS but nothing happens. So it reads the disc but won't start the flashing process.

Trying via http, I have DCHP enabled on my router, searches for IP, says falling back to: 192.168.0.99

try to connect via 192.168.0.99 and can't.

The only thing I can think of is if I have the protect switch on the chip set to protect, but wouldn't it warn me or tell me that?

Any ideas why I can't get anything working here?

you have the CE version so if the chip has flash protect disabled, it should have the red lite lit (under the chip). Second, make sure your switches configuration are [on on off off off]. I love http flash so I will give you advice on that route:

Disable DCHP, set your PC ip to something like 192.168.0.x where x= any number except 99. Boot your xbox to flashbios. It should give a default of 192.168.0.99. Use M$ IE on PC and type in : http://192.168.0.99. Make sure to use the appropriate X3 bios for your Xbox version.

If it won't flash. Disconnect the X3 control panel switch cable at the X3 end and try again.

the red light on the xapt3r indicates you have good d0 contact. The red light I was referring to is on the chip itself (you can't miss it because it's bright)

Hey, on this note, I just screwed myself, and if u can help me out on the same sub, that'd be nice.

I was doing HTTP, it asked for the file, and I pointed it to (exactly) "bios.bin", it said it found it, went through the process, and at the end said failed. I waited a few mins, then shut it off. (I kno, dumass! :-( )

So of course I switched to the off off on on off (2nd bank) Then I made sure it would do FTP, and said to myself "Just in case I before I start I better check to see if changing bios.bin to all caps! Then like a dumass I shut it off. (NOT while flashing tho)

Now, I can only boot to a non-blank screen one way, using the backup BIOS, but it never gets past the USB init, what can I do now?

Firstly the second X3 bank is off,on,off, off, off.

you dont say what file u r flashing and what version xbox u have...i'm trying to figure out why the first flash attempt failed.

Your public profile says its a 1.6 ...if so then boot to backup flash ,set the switches for the correct bank and flash X3 3029 v16plus.bin (there is no need to rename to bios.bin)
