Identify My Drive?

I have a drive that has had the sticker removed from the top of it (not my doing). I believe its a Lite-On. Will Jungleflasher identify which drive it is? I believe it is one of the earlier Lite-on drives. Is there any other way that I can identify the drive other than by using the sticker?

Re: Identify My Drive?

I had tried the cable trick in the front but I didn't see any cable. I guess I need to get a flash light and look. I'm pretty sure its a Liteon though. I'm more concerned about the particular Liteon that it is. I would like to not have to purchase any additional hardware to extract a key or whatever it is you have to do with Liteon drives.

*Keeps fingers crossed*

Please search before posting, there is already a sticky on the forums to help you identify your drive type, located here :

Did you even bother to read what I posted? I'm not trying to identify just the brand, but also the sub-brand(? I guess thats what you would call it). Jungleflasher's tutorial specifically lays out the difference in types of drives even if they are the same brand. A Liteon isn't JUST a Liteon. There are like 3 or 4 different types of Liteon......right?

I was asking if there is a way to identify which type of drive you have without the sticker.....Will Jungleflasher do this for you.....?

Re: Identify My Drive?

Yes - but - you have to remove drive to connect it to pc to use jf - by that time you will be able to read the sticker on the lid of the drive!

AS you have already said - its in the JF tutorial!

So why ask?

Wow.....I think I made it quite clear that the sticker had been removed (Its the very first sentence).... That was the whole point of me asking if JungleFlasher would identify it for me. Should I have prefaced this topic by saying that I had decent bit of experience flashing drives. I've flashed a number of them.....just never a Liteon. Now that I do have a Liteon...its missing the sticker thats usually on top of the drive.

So I'll try again.....will JF identify the type of Liteon it is OR will I just have to do some kind of trial and error.....?
