Flashing problems (flashprotect message)

Hey, I've been trying to flash my X3 (not ce) and got the error message that is caused by the flashprotect being on. Well, I took out my chip and flipped the switch, no luck, same error.(keep in mind, I didn't have the bank selection switch on). So I decide to put a bank switch on, and flip the flash protect off. Try again, no good. Take the chip out, flip the switch the other way, no luck still.

Now it will ONLY boot if I have the flashprotect on (when the chip is both enabled and disabled).

Any ideas?

Strange...

Flash protect led should be red on the chip for flashing AND the default switch if on should be either:
ON ON OFF OFF OFF
OFF ON OFF OFF OFF

Other people with flashing problems like this had to reseat and jiggle their chip in place and stable. Slight installation problems. Other than that there have been faulty switches.

weird sh*t now. It takes me to the flashbios menue always now with the flash switch on or off. It also isnt letting me boot to the MS screen (holding down power button till boot). And now the LEDs on the bank switch are purple no matter what. If i take the chip out it just flashes green and botos 3 times and FRAGS the third time after a while with no audio or video. When the chip is on and sh*t it also flashes green for a like 5 seconds.

Hmm well try putting the switch on your mod chip in the other direction and make sure when you go to flash that the flash protect switch on the dipswitch board is on. Try that... then try it with the dip switch off... I got the same message and when I changed the switch on the X3 CE it self it was all fixed. Before it just wasn't letting the chip be flashed.
