LITEON 74850 Flashing questions

My 360 has a Liteon DG-16D2S, original FW-74850C, that has been updated the new firmware - 02510C. When I need to flash from LT 1.91 to LT 2.0 will I need to flash to stock first(using 02510C)? I have read where some people suggest to flash to stock, apply the update, and then flash with the new FW.* Under what circumstances should I do that? Also, if I'm not on XBL how do I apply the update?

Normally flashing to stock is for dash updates...if you are on 1.91 & there is no dashboard update to do, your're absolutely fine just to chuck 2.0 on there.

Dash updates can be done via USB/CD/DVD (download from xbox.com/support)
