Hi all,

Ok we have been here before, i had the exact same issue as im about to describe on another machine, i tripple checked everything, reflashed the nand 100 times but same issue, left it in the cupboard for 3 months then tried it one more time and it worked??, so never got to the bottom of it.. This machine is still working.

Anyway a little more complicated this time but same issue as before.

This system falcon 3.0, was previously jtagged with a cygnos, for various reasons this has now been removed, total pain in the ass.

Now i have another 2 jtagged systems with nand x, so have gone that route here to. Wired identical except 2 QSB boards.

So currently using wired jtaged points for the 2 connectors, and the QSB KIT 2 for the jtag point.

Alt Method of diode wiring same as on my other two
, on the bottom of the board.

Tried 20 attempts of creating a jtag image using the alt smc file, from manwithnoname, that normally works, tried various programs, all i get is flashing red lower right, nothing on screen.

As before i can read and write from the nand with nand x, nands compare before and after fine.

If i turn of the jtag, and reflash original nand, box boots to 7371 perfectly?.

So again stuck with this age old damn problem, getting erked with this!

I have the feeling somewhere along the line the FB image is not correct.

?

BEFORE YOU ASK :)

With your xbox unplugged, check the resistance of J2D2.1 and J2D2.2 to ground with your multimeter set to 10k or 20k. For Falcons they should both be close to 1.5k Ohms. If not, then a reflow is in order. If they are good then try using JTAG Tool to make your Freeboot image. And make sure to select 'AUD_CLAMP & DVD_TRAY' for the SMC points.

Edit: Ohh! I just noticed the switch on your J2D2 QSB is set to "off". Put it into the center position and try again. :D

Yeah i know about the switch lol, id just flashed the stock nand back to test thats why :), ill check the diodes now, can you show the points im supposed to be using, this is on another post but i cant find it.

PS already used jtag tool, same problem :(.
Only problem i can see is i get a message saying warning make sure you are using a decrypted extended.bin ???????? uh ???

And i was told the machine i had before may need a reflow, which it did not, never ever had a problem with it, or this one for that matter.

PS would sombody kindly create an image for me, so i can satisfy myself that im not doing somthing stupid? i can supply my ftp details.

No, you're not checking the diodes.

Set the multimeter to 2k (or lowest range above 1.5k).

Put the black probe on a ground point.

Put the red probe on the HOLE for J2D2.1

Do again for J2D2.2

Board should be unplugged.

Let me know what both readings are.

Ill post my cpu key and original nand dump on my ftp, check it out, may take a few mins for me to do......

Somebody had mentioend this before, i have no idea why?, maybe why i have had so much trouble creating images in the past, but if i put them in nand comapre here it says they are all the same??

So have you just tried to write Xellous to it using JTAG Tool (selecting the AUD_CLAMP and DVD_tray options beforehand)? , ill try that now, there was a falcon xell bin floating around that used to work good.

I have my last cygnos dump that work fine, new somthing was going wrong though, im sure its the images

Ok - so pics of where the Cygnos was is next on the agenda. Also double check your AUD_CLAMP soldering hasn't lifted the pad from under the transistor.

Definatly NOT lifted the AUD CLAMP Pad, ill do where cygnos WAS now....

Uploaded to FTP, and original link.

There are pads missing here for sure, the cygnos install was a cock up, but it worked for about 1.5 years lol.

Just had a thought what way round are your diodes (can't see them in the pics due to the shrink wrap)

I assume the correct way, or they have built them wrong lol

Checked diodes, Black lines at short solder points, so correct.
