Need to confirm some info on how to flash my slim xbox. I have no problem flashing mine and my friends phat xboxs but never done a slim before.

Me and my friend both have a slim we want to flash. Mine hasnt been turned on from before the XGD3 games came out so the board on the drive is still unlocked and his is on the latest dash, so im assuming his board is locked.

This is what i believe i need if anyone can confirm or correct:

Need to get the keys/dump from the liteon slims using either a compatible sata connection or Xecuter X360USB PRO and a probe.
Does it matter if the drive is locked or not on reading the keys?

After i have the keys/dump I need a TX Replacement PCB.

Then i write the key/dump to the new TX PCB and flash using JF and latest CFW.

Let me know if this is correct or if im missing something. Once i know i have the right information im going to order the parts.

Thanks everyone.

you will need ck3i to power the drive and usbpro for sata connection(onboards are terrible with slim drives) no probe needed to get the key before you do any mod the the pcb use slimkey to get your dummy.bin

if you dont feel comfortable adding a sputnik switch for MXIC chipset or doing a Kamikaze on a Winbond chipset then you will need the Unlocked PCB

Forgot to mention that i have a ck3 pro, do i still need a ck3i?

If my on board sata does work with the slim drive do i need the probe.
Didnt know that with the usb pro no probe was needed, im assuming the latest jungle flasher handles all that now?

Your CK3pro would work fine. Unlocking your spi will depend on what MT chip your slim has. If MXIC you either need sputnik 360 or MX probe. If you slim has windbond MT chip, you may do the kamikaze or replace your orig drive with TX unlocked PCB.

So if my MT chip is a MXIC i can use a MX probe and dont need a TX unlocked PCB?
I have the ck3 probe, will that also work?

Im probably going to go with the TX PCB either way but its good to know all the details.

you would need the sputnik probe for mxic mt chip but that still involves cut traces and soldering so you have to be comfortable doing that

1st: know firmware rev. that is on the drive!

Then yes dump the OFW first as alway's on any drive!

Then check to see which MT you have,"winbond or MXIC"!

If it is a winbond you must attempt a kamakazi or use a Team Xecuter PCB.

If it is a MXIC MT then you can use a spunik probe or a spunik swicth!

A winbond will have the numbers 05 on the MT itself and a MXIC will have the numbers 03,that will let you know which hack to use!

After all that follow the tutorial to the drives Firmware rev. that can be found on the Main page of this very forum or in the Jungle Flasher PDF!

Tool's needed depend on which MT you have, but you must have a USBPRO and your ck3 will do just fine!

Can I still use a Team Xecuter PCB on a MXIC if needed or do you have to use either a spunik probe or a spunik swicth

Yes you can! It's just if you do have a MXIC MT,it would be cheaper to use a Sputnik switch or a Sputnik probe. The jf PDF will explain how to use Team Xecuters sputnik series tools.

Also I would like to add,if you can't solder then the Team Xecuter pcb would be a good choice for you.

Im going to open up my system tonight to see which version it is. Its been a very long time since i soldered but if i can im going to go with the sputnik switch. The price difference is just to much.
Worse case if i mess it up after i get the key/dump, i can always just get the TX PCB board anyway.
Thanks guys you made this a lot easier. I saw all the information out there but now I actually understand what each item is used for.

So i ended up having a Winbond and my friend got screwed worse then me and had the new Hitachi DLN10N. So i guess im getting a new board and he is SOL for now.

Was actually looking forward to soldering the Sputnik, oh well.
Once again, thanks everyone.

No choice now if not kamikaze or TX PCB. At least you're more luckier than your friend. Good luck

Just an update, I replaced the board, flashed and all is well. You guys made it a much easier process.
