Can somebody help me with the following problem:

I just mod my 1.6 XBOX with the LPC. All solder work is ok, i can start up my XBOX and i can boot to the cromwell bios/and also with chip disabled.
When i want to flash with for example 3294 :
1st step: erasing >> OK
2nd step: flashing stops at 3/4

When i shutdown the xbox i see very fast a message: programming failed...wrote error ....0x0. ........

I called my chip seller (www.mrmod.nl) and he said ok i swap your chip..3 weeks later i received a "new chip" and again i have the same problem.
I called my chip seller again but now he don't want to help anymore :(

Can you help me ?

by the way: flashing with a 256k bios is no problem, and yes i have the flash banks ok (on,on,off, off, off)

As I said some days ago, I've got *exactly* the same problem, it flashes up to 512 KB (so I can use an X2 BIOS), I didn't buy another chip cause I'm broke at the moment. I tried next to everything but no joy. The thing is always stopping at 3/4 during the flashing phase. The soldering and stuff is absolutely spot on (I had it modded by a pro, and he even went to my place in order to check the thing up with a multimeter and, electrically speaking, everything is hunky dory. Don't know what else to do (apart from using an older BIOS).

Hmm, that's weird.
With the panel disconnected, it won't start (understandable, since there's nothing usable on the 2mb bank). If I start from the backup (leaving the panel disconnected) the flashing will halt with an "unknown flash" message (but flash protection is off, the LED on the X3 is red).
Any ideas?

P.s.: Mind you that I've got a 1.6a like the original poster as well

Sorry for that, it was flash protect :p.
Corrected now. It flashed a test 256K Flashbios but no joy upon restart. Tried with a 1024K x3. Still freezing at 3/4.

Guys,
I'm crying out of joy.
After 15 days fiddling with the box, I tried to reopen the thing and removed the external switch header from the x3.
I rebooted and nothing would show up bar dear old Bill's Xbox menu.
I said, WTF? And re-seated the X3 into the pin header. It booted hunky dory, and let me flash this darn 1024 X3 straight away.
Now I'll examine this postmortem to see what the hell is going on.
Go Team Xecuter! :))

First of all, I disconnected the connectors from the panel (ie. without opening the xbox). No joy, the 'box went on then suddenly off. Then I opened up the box, unplugged the panel connector from the X3. Two lights went off (5v and 3.3v, plus the red one for the flash) just like they were doing before. So far, so good. The box booted from the default bank (flashbios) so I knew something had changed. Flashed the X3 bios back, this time everything worked. Tried to hook up the panel connector on the X3 only (without connecting it to the external panel), i got the two lights plus the FP ok, but it shut down after 1sec. Disconnected the thing again, rox my box. I gave it a last shot but this time (with the panel connected or disconnected, doesn't matter) only the 5v light lit up. Something is wrong with pins 9 or 15, probably one of those got loose (I'll get in touch with my soldering guru to get it fixed). I'll keep you posted!
