Flashing the 2.6 with a disc?? please help

I have been making ISO's to flash my 2.6 lite chips all day with no success. I am using:


-100 mb dummy file
- 1mb flashbios_v303.bin

To create my ISO file.

- Nero 6 burn my ISO

- I have a Samsung DVD Drive and With compatable CD-RW's

I insert the disc, scroll down to "load BIOS from Disc", and select the option, whereupon my disc drive ejects. I then close it and the disc reads for a moment, but the screen has never changed from... "Please insert CD - Flashing Mode".

If anyone knows of or has an updated tutorial or can help me out let me know.
PS. I don't want the go out and buy the 2.6 programer answer.

i dont think u make an iso file then burn it, i tried all yesterday and half of today, and then found the tutorial, and didnt make an iso file, and it worked fine. cept i flashed my bios with the wrong fawkin thing

First make sure you disk works with you Xbox. Burning it as an audio CD is good test.

Follow the tutorials. Your not trying to put the flashbios_v303.bin file on the CD directly? If so that's where your going wrong.

The BIOS you have listed above is the same as what will already be on bank 2 of your chip - even so, the chip should still be getting flashed with FlashBIOS_V3.0.3 when you insert the CD. (Not that it matters, but what size is the FlashBIOS BIN file?)

Firstly, you need to get the correct BIOS - X2CL 5035 is the latest (make sure you read the readme file). Then make another ISO file, and burn it do disk using the 'Burn Image' option in the Recorder menu in Nero. Also, Have you tried using a DVD instead of a CD?

for bios flashing, http is the best way to go. just grab a PC and get a crossover cable. it is more secure.
