Is it possible to run/flash the x3 on a pin header which doesn't use the full length of the LPC port? In my instance I need to reflash the X3's bios as I have 1.6b. The problem being the other people I know with mod chips either have X2.3b lites or smart xxs. I'd be interested to know it is theoretically possible or if anyone has tried, and what happened. Thanks.

Thanks. I've just tried this and it worked flawlessly, with one consideration - the D0 point. The X3's D0 plug&socket is larger other chips. We had to strip the Smart XX's D0 plug, and coil wire between that and the X3 to get a connection. The process same should be needed for other modchips.

You don't need to reconnect the d0 to the chip you're hot-flashing!!!

Once the Xbox has booted from the chip, you can remove the d0 altogether!!

From what I see there then no, its not a DVD+R DL.

Im kinda new to this so you might want someone more experienced to clarify for certain, but im pretty sure, sorry man.

Nope mate. Your first drive can only read discs and your second can only burnt onto CDs and DVDs.

I recommend the Pioneer DVR-A18L the exact same one I'm currently using.
