flashing trouble HELP plz

I recently bought a 2.6CE chip. I installed it and the flash bios screen comes up. I burnt the bios to a disk and chose to get bios from disc but when i insert the disk it says "Waiting for Drive". Then after a minute or two the disc comes out and tells me to insert disk. I have burnt 5 discs each one had Dummy Files and the disc i used were Memorex CD-RW 12x 700MB 80Min. I have a Yamaha burner and a Thompson DVD-Drive in my xbox. I have tried to network flash but i put the IP in and it doesnt load the page.

Will some one please explain to me what i am doing wrong.

Thompson DVD drives are notorious for not reading anything... including the occasional XBOX official disc.

I personally went with the programmer... worked best for me.

what exactly do you mean by a programmer?

Any modchip reseller sells programmers. Although you don't need one. You will eventually have to get the DVD drive to read a disc if you want to install a dashboard. How fast are you burning? You want to burn as slow as possible. I have an Imation 650 meg CD-RW that I burn at 1x and I have yet to find an Xbox that won't read it.

i was burning at 4x on NERO. im looking for a site to buy a different drive b/c today i recieved some birthday money. Do you have any site that sells DVD drives for a low price?

Ebay. Or you could hack up a PC DVD drive. I would just burn at a slower speed though.

i ordered one from eBay. it is a hacked lg-Hitachi drive reads everything except CD-Rs, i use CD-RWs anyway.
