Flashing X3 takes about 6 minutes?!

have done 6 X3 mods (all <= v1.4), all 'perfect' until a few weeks ago...

one xbox has been flashed 2 times without a problem, but since the last 2 X3-bioses (3029 and the one before) it takes about 6 minutes to flash instead of the 'normal' 15 seconds.

when i flash from within X3CL it seems to hang (probably not, but no progress on screen in the first 30-60 seconds).
so i power off xbox and it won't start anymore (ofcourse!)
so i boot with flashbios and retry it there. with flashbios the progress can be watched better and there i see it doesn't hang, but is flashing extreme slow.

any ideas what this is and what could have caused it?!

try touching up your solder, partial cold joint may have caused the contact between the chip and the mobo to become harder. check to see if you run into the same slowness with an X2 bios, if it does not have the same slowness, check the extra pins that the X3 uses.

ok, will check the solder.
(i have done the Pin Header install, so I will look at the pinheader. is it also possible that the chip isn't making good contact with the pinheader, instead of the pinheader with the mobo?)
can you tell me which pins are the extra X3 ones?

so flashing an x2 bios to an x3 can be done without a problem?!
mmm, didn't know that...
