Interesting! also

"Updated bios.ini with all latest X3 Bios's and some others"

However, it is impossible to fit an X3 onto an X2.6 programmer.

I imagine it might be the split-Bios method. There is a program you can use that can not only merge several Bios pieces into one bios file, but can also split one Bios into several pieces.
So at that point it would be splitting the 1MB X3 Bios into 4 256K parts, and since the first part of the file holds the main booting instructions I've heard this as a possibility before.

The orientation of the female pin header on an X3 means the USB connector on the programmer gets in the way of the chip.

Everything powers up but I can't get X2BM23 to recognize it. The readme lies! Liars!!

I tried doing a hotswap with X3OS webflash and FlashX3 but it won't work.

I think it has to do with the fact that the red X3 icon on the switch panel is always red.

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I can't get X2BM to recognize the X3! I can't flash it any other way! And all the banks including backup are hosed :(

OK, if what I read above is correct you are noting an article that talks about being able to get a 2.6 to use the first 256K of the X3 bios. It is NOT reversible, you CANNOT use the X2.6 Bios in an X3. If you flash a 256K Bios to a 1MB bank it will cause an error since at the 257K mark it will be empty and the chip is still looking for instruction.

You CANNOT use the 2.6 Bios on an X3, it's stated all over this board.

WHY THE HELL would you continue to want the X2.6 Bios on your X3??
Was your X3 not functioning properly and you decided that a 2.6 Bios might work?

We CANNOT help you if you don't help us understand what's going on.

To get back to FlashBios, even in the backup here's the suggestion.
move the switch to a different bank and then use the backup button combo.
(Power slightly before eject, then hold them both.)
I don't know why, but having the switches set to a different bank to use the backup bios works.

BTW, if you hold power for even a second when you turn on the xbox it will disable the mod. To get the mod enabled (blue light) you pretty much have to do a lightning strike on the power button (QUICK!)
(Only excepting when you are getting to the backup bios)

You can also enable the mod easily by using eject to turn the box on.

That can't be in reply to my post.

Incase there is any confusion:

- X2BM23= X2 Bios Manager 2.3
- Only using X3 bioses and flashbios 3.0.3 here
- Well aware of the dipswitch dancing and doublepress tiger style
- As far as the power button pressing: I never owned a Nes max controller, my finger is the turbo button
- This is a failed mod someone tried to do themselves. I floated them a chip, they returned the bad one, I waited, they got the chip back, and it was the same bad chip.

Now is someone out there going to look at these pics or make a X2BM that's compatible with this chip or what?
