Flashing X3 with EvoX......

Hi

I got a X3 with the LCD front panel.... recently i flashed it with X3_1959.bin bios and the backup with M8_v1.6. I changed some options in the X3_1959.bin configuration but i can not remember what i changed.... the thing is that now it starts with the green flubber and it says Xecuter (rox my box) on the bottom but it goes directly to the dash wichi is unleash. If i try to start it with backup bios, off course it also goes straight to the dash...

My question is very simple... How can i flash my X3 chip now???

I though to do it with EvolutionX but it´s happening some things

1-) When i select a 1MB bios it says "Error file size error" (It also happens with 512Kb Bioses)
2-) When i select a 256KB bios it detects a Windbond chip type coz the manofacturer ID is: (0x0900) which is the same than Windbond, and then when it says press Y to flash it appears "Erasing" but it frags and nothing happens (Chip is set to Unprotected at this step and all switches in front pannel are off).

I also would like to know if somebody knows which is the manofacturer ID for the X3 to put on evox.ini and the hex format for the bios capacity on X3 so then i can flash it with EvoX eg:

For further assistance: This is the info i got from the chip (AcTel Plus ProASIC APA 075 TQ100) also my unleashx detects it as an AMD chip.

If you can currently boot the chip into a dashboard ok, then you can also access X3CL.

Hold the white button while booting to get to Config Live. Then you can FTP into your xbox and drop the bios that you want into the Admin directory. It will flash automatically. Make sure you put it into the correct bank or it will frag. I.e. if it's an X3 bios, put into the 1Mb bank either 1234 or 5678.

Also, flash your backup with flashbios not M8. I doubt you'd really need M8 for anything and if for some reason you screw up your bank you boot from you can load the backup and easily reflash.

*edit* also please note, according to what you told us, you flashed the X3 1959 bios (NOT the v16 version) and you flashed the M8 (the v16 version)
Make sure you choose the right bios. It depends on which xbox version you have. V16 bios only works on 1.6 and 1.6b's all other version xbox's use the normal bios.

However do you know whta is the Manofacturer ID for this X3 mod so i can put it into the evox.ini for the future???? and also (excuse me for many questions) can you please tell me where can i find a manual or something to know everything of the X3 chip, the bios i can load and how to work with the bank switches???

Sorry i don't know the ID code your after.
Everything you could possibly need to know about the X3 will be found somewhere on this site, and if it is not written down, somebody will be able to tell you. There are no "manuals" exactly. Just read the tutorials from the Main page www.teamxecuter.com and read all the stickies on the support pages. There is a sticky that is only for the bank switches. Read that one first, since you are interested in that right now. Cheers

Hi

I was trying to start my console pressing and holding the white button next to the balck one with different controlers and also pressing and releasing it continuisly but it goes straight to the dash...... what could be happening.???? i did did with all the switches off.

*edit* i don´t remember at all if i used X3_1959.bin for v1.6 or not the thing is that that was the first flash i´ve made and it worked fine but i was changing things and learning how to use it you know... and i don´t remember what i changed but the X3CL doesn´t satart...... also... something else i remember that i tried to flash my bios with and IND Bios i can not remember exactly which one,.... maybe that´s the problem too.... the thing is that when the box starts by pressing really quick the power button it appears the Xecuter logo and it says Xecuter Rox your box on the button side so i think it means it´s starting with the X3_1959.bin bios.

X3CL will only come up if you are using an X3 bios, and the only way to make it come up is to hold the white button, As far as i know. I have a thought on another waythat might work, but ive never tried it, so i won't mention it. I'll try it on my own console first, then let you know.

O.k, I didn't want to say it in case i was wrong
But if you FTP into your xbox from your current dashboard, then rename all your dashboards to something other than their current name, when you reboot the xbox it will boot directly into X3 Config Live. Now that doesn't really solve your problem of the white button not working, but at least it gets you into X3CL.

mmm... you know it´s something i did not think before..... and it have sense but changing your method a little i will do it in this way:

Start my xbox with the retail bios (Red xecuter´s logo on x3cp) and then as you say change all the boot files, then restart it with the xecuter bios (blue xecuter´s logo on x3cp)..... i will try and i hope it helps....

However do you think there is another option??? or what do you think about what i said before for the manofacuter ID to flash it with EvoX???

Hi friends...

I would like to tell you that finally i fixed it with the help of: Ureterreal doing this:
I added the line (Flash = 0x01AD,"XECUTER 3",0x100000) to the evox.ini (all switches off) and then it recognized my X3 chip so i put the bios i wanted on the evox.ini list and that was it...... X3 flashed with new bios and off course i recover backup Bios with Flashbios v3.0.1.... anyway i think that FlashX3 also would´ve worked i didn´t tried...... THANKS A LOT FOR THOSE WHO ANSWERED TO THIS CONCERN AND ALSO FOR THOSE WHO TRIED.....
