This morning I flashed my X3 chip with no problems at all!

I placed the bios on the C: drive (c:\bios), placed the skins directory on E: (e:\x3skins), rebooted to flashbios (held eject & power) and then set my switches to Off On Off Off. From the Flashbios screen I select flash from HD and chose my bios. When complete my system shutdown. All done - without a hitch.

I hope by posting how I flashed mine will help out users that are unsure. Good day everyone! :)

Why not use switches ON ON OFF OFF OFF like the first time you flashed? Just wondering, does this make any difference?

when you use x3cl to reflash a 1mb bank, you dont need to change your switch settings. give it a try. once an x3 bios is flashed onto your chip, you dont need to go back to flashbios to reflash.

you are telling us that if we boot to say the bank 1 bios and then flash from the bank 1 bios it will automatically put it into bank 2 even if the switches are set for Bank 1?

yeah, if you boot the first 1 mb bios youre able to flash the 2nd 1mb bank through x3cl.

explore the flash section for a while ;)

I almost considered removing my front switch for exactly this reason... but I just can't bring myself to do it - I want everyone to see the bright blue light :)

Maybe he wished to maintain his original BIOS in case of problems. I kept 1959 in the first bank and put 2913 in the second.
