Okay, at the time I'm writing this and being a newbie to the scene as well... what is consistently posted recently are bios flashing problems and blank screens and all occuring to basically the 1.6b users. And before another person posts something up with the same symptons, I wish I could help as I probably experience several of the same problems with my first installation and with patience I learnt alot and broke down the problem.

If you haven't installed the chip yet and just shopping around, it is a good idea to know what version your XBox is. There are guides to those everywhere on the web.

This is basically the same guide as: http://www.teamxecuter.com/flashbios/
with some extra key notes.

Note: 1.6 comes in several flavours (a,b...) and FlashBIOS has two version currently that comes with the Xecuter 3 which are 3.0.1 and FlashBIOS v3.0.3. Main differences between the two v3.0.1 works with XBox 1.6 and v3.0.3 works with 1.6B and that is why they are both on the chip.
When ordering your chip, make sure that this is the case and you don't have old stock with only v3.0.1 that won't work if you have XBox 1.6b.
This is stated in the above url:
d. FlashBIOS v3.03 may not work on v1.6 in some cases (works great on v1.6b) - at time of press this is being investigated and we recommend you use v3.01 for v1.6 - this tutorial is exactly the same for that version.

For trouble shooting guides, please refer to the other tutorials as the most common problem that occurs comes down to the soldering.

Once you think everything is installed properly and you get the flubber screen, then read on.

1. Check what happens for each different mode when turning on your XBox.
Mod enabled: Blue X light check for both 1234 or 5678 by changing your switches.
Bank 1234: on on off off
Bank 5678: off on off off
Mod disabled: Red X light, works like normal.
Backup Bios (Power and Eject pressed at same time): Violet/Purple/white (just not red or blue) X light

If Mod disabled works fine thats nothing special.
If Mod enabled works for either one of the two settings then thats good, congratulations!
If both modes don't work at all, check your soldering again especially if the backup bios has failed also.

Flash your bios by following the Xecuter FlashBIOS tutorial above.
When flashing as noted, change your switches to an alternative bank from the FlashBIOS you booted up on is located. If it worked on 5678, flash the X3 Bios to 1234. Very logical, this is incase something goes wrong during your flashing! The settings are on the screen!

Once everything is running smoothly and X3 Bios is properly flashed, just a note to those who never got the backup BIOS running at all which are most likely the 1.6b users, flash your backup BIOS with FlashBIOS v3.0.3 if you are a 1.6b user. Download it from the Xecuter website, and test that it actually works, if it does not work try FlashBIOS v3.0.1.

And that should be it for now....

Useful information, I have one thing to clarify.

Just to avoid confusion, When you have installed your X3 and boot with chip enabled, you will not get the flubber animation. The TV screen will load straight up to flashbios. If you do get the flubber, chances are your chip is booting disabled.

Whoops, thanks for that... it should be probably be power on without FRAG for that section,
and then follow on to check how the other modes boot.

Hey guys... Sorry to just jump in out of no-where like this but I'm in need of some noobie support. I recently had my X-box modified. I can install and play all my games but some fo them won't copy and I'd like to delete the innactive games. I can't figure out how? Can any-one send me a simple user guide with instructions on how to use this cool new toy? I'd appreciate it. Thanx, Coop

Hey Coop,

What dashboard are you using? You can do it two ways. FTP into your xbox and delete the files you don't want to keep, or some dashboards have a file server built in to them. You can use this to access your games and delete.
