The next bios is supposed to have a better way of fixing this so this post will soon become obsolite but who cares...may prevent a few more forgotten password posts.

This is a miny tut that will help you get your X3 working again after you forget your password.


First thing is to check and make sure you are entering in the right password. The X3 will only store the first 8 characters of your password no matter how long the password you entered in is. It will look like it stored the entire password but it didn't. If you fall in this catagory just try and put in the first 8 characters of your password. This should do the trick.

If you forgot it you will need to get the X3 Erase program and use that to erase the password.

1.) Set switch to a 256Kb bank and flash with eithe the X2bios or the m816plus for 1.6 xboxs.

2.) Either ftp over the x3erase.xbe and run it from your xbox or make a boot disk with the program renamed default.xbe

3.) Switch over to your 1MB bank and you are back in business.
