I got rrod on my big block Jasper while following rgh tut for noobs. got some bad blocks during read but well after 2000. So I thought I was ok. Then got rrod after write ECC. After searching posts and chcking solders I confirmed bad solder at STBY_CLK on QSB. Fixed. Just wanted to be sure where to go from here. Should I retry boot with eject button for Xell reloaded or do I need to take steps backwards. Any help would be much appreciated

If you repaired the bad solder then xell should now boot as you have already flashed the EEC.

Thanks. Just for clarification, I only got the rrod after the 'write ECC' step of the rgh tutorial. I was just wondering if the bad STBY_CLK soldering could have caused any problems with the nand dump or the ecc write.

RROD is gone, but coolrunner only flashes green once or twice then regular dash boots up. From what I've read I'm gonna try rewriting the ECC

best thing is post pics as it is now.

then see what the pros spot.

befor you touch it again tbh.

a second pair of eyes sometimes spot things you cant.coz you stressed with it.

it dose happen.

Again, thanks. Dgenx's thought to post before I do anything else makes sense. As soon as I find my cam I'll post the pics.

Not sure if anyone is still paying attention but here I go...
Couldn't find a camera, so I removed QSBs all together and just wired directly to motherboard so I could see each solder clearly. They all look good(but I'm still trying to find a camera). Coolrunner green light flashing consistently, but still no video. Also, if I remove power from Coolrunner, system will not boot to dash. Any help would be much appreciated.

I removed the QSBs because I wanted a better look at the solder points which seems to be the biggest problem from what I've been reading. Also, I used Jtag tool to create the ECC. Trying multibuilder now...

A two page thread and even though you've been asked to supply pics, you've yet to do it.

We CANNOT help unless we can see what you've done already.

Not sure why people still insist on using jtag tool. Looks like even coolshrimp has given up on it as it still doesn't handle the new dash. Take a lesson papabear at least for the minute stick with multibuilder.

Sorry about the pics(or lack thereof). I have flashed several dvd drives, but this was my first attempt at anything JTAG related. Thanks again for your help. Next time I'll procure a digital camera before posting any help questions. Thanks again.
