Success!.......kind of. So it turns out the problem was JTAG tool. After correcting the Xell issue by using multibuilder to create the ECC I just continued using the tutorial I was using and used JTAG tool to create a new retail image which I flashed to the console with Rawflash on a USB drive. I recreated the new retail image using multibuilder and its all good. However, now after I shut down my system the fan wont shut off. It continues running until I pull out the power supply. Any idea why that is?

You, sir would lose that bet. Fortunately for you, however, I am man enough to admit that the reason my fan was running was simply because I plugged a controller into the console so it would sync automatically and I left it plugged in. As soon as I unplugged it the stupid fan stopped. LOL.......I guess. Thanks.

Now I move on to all out Jtagging! Thanks to everyone who helped. This is the best forum Q&A experience I've had yet. Just keep an eye out for 'papabear1245'. I'll try to search for answers before I post a new question, but its good to know that if I have a question there are people kind enough to help.
