Soldered the qsb's was able to read nand fine.
Installed coolrunner and fracked up the stby_clk, did the alternative point as mentioned in
http://forums.team-xecuter.com/showthread.php?t=74992

Now when I try to read/write nand, i get the "can not continue" error. What steps should be taken to repair this board so that it may function?

I gathered as much already, since the resistor is still intact I just have to scrape the trace and connect it to the resistor correct?

yeah go with the alt point,

also for future point, your joints look cold. Probably resolder for better connection

Hi,

Look at the point next to J2D2 (See attached pictures) Looks a little dodgy.

The STBY_CLK point wont effect the nand reading. But you will need to secure that SMD resister with hot glue once you have attached the wire. Use the small via and scrape there not on the track, as it is to thin for a good connection. (See second attached picture)

Just seen a few people try attach it hard ways, make it easy for yourself. :)

I've redone all the solder points, nandx still wont read. Are you sure stbyclk wont effect nand reading?

Yes it will, if STBY_CLK is dead/lifted/removed or whatever then you cannot read or write to the NAND flash.

You need to fix the resistor before doing anything else otherwise your console won't do anything.
Spot on Blakey. Stby_clk is the clock line to the southbridge, so without it there's no southbridge operations including powering the console and SPI read/write functions.

Vest1ge - I suggest you do more research in future. My sticky on NAND-x troubleshooting covers stby_clk too.

OP soldered the NANDX JTAG J2D2 board which is NOT used for RGH!!!

Remove J2D2 board or disable it as it is not used for RGH.
Repair HANA point as said above.
Repair cold solder joints using flux and 15-20w iron so they "melt" into place and are shiny.

Soldering should look like this:

Thanks for the input on the jtag part.

I've tried re soldering them (I used flux in the first place, and with the redo's), and they always come out looking grey. This solder is old and is most likely lead based, could this be as to why that is happening?

Also, I'm using a 25w soldering iron.

Lead-free solder always looks matted. It's just the way it is. leaded solder leaves a nice shine but you need to replace the solder on the entire point.

Went to radioshack, got a fiberglass pen and fixed the stby_clk. Was able to read and write the nand without problem. Now I have issues with booting into xell, coolrunner will have steady red light and green light that will go on for a short peroid of time then go off. Front board light is alternating green light.

Here are pictures of my soldering done on the back side

I think my Pll_bypass is bad, but I'm not 100% on how todo the alternative spot. It says I have to connect the resistor to the other spot on the motherboard, from where do I connect to the coolrunner, to the spot on the topside that is connected to the resistor? Is there another alternative, or is perhaps my soldering job fine?

Seriously, stop.

Your soldering WILL short something and you'll be another casualty for a blown CPU.

What flux are you using? What iron? What tip?

Look at my 'Pics' sticky - THAT's how the points should look.

Check out my 'Soldering Videos' sticky for help on soldering properly.

You have way too much solder on, plus you have too much wire exposed. Re-look at the pics, especially your recent stby_clk
