Here is a quick summary of my setup.
- xbox ver 1.6, Xecuter 2.6CE, Xapt3r (for v1.6)
I've completed the installation of the Xapt3r and the 2.6CE. All 5 LEDs on the Xapt3r lighted up when the box is turned on (I think that this mean there are good connection to the LCP port and that the 5 "arms" (A,B,C,D & E) are all have good contact. The 2.6CE was installed properly. When booted up, the Xecuter FlashBIOS screen v 3.0.1 came up and I was also able to use the controller to move up and down the screen. What I did notice at this point is that the box will only boot on memory bank 1 and not 2.
I've gone to xbins and download the BIOS named xecuter2_4978.3_xboxMulti_512k.bin (size = 512KB on my laptop) and flash the BIOS with this file (using http). After flashing, the box will simply FRAG with nothing display on the screen.
I have followed Fantmx suggestion on checking the switch. I dont have a voltmeter and have no idead who is Whoopin's sig for the schematic diagram. The reason for doing this is to try to switch to memory bank 2 but I think that either the mem2 bank was not flashed properly at factory or the switch cable is not working properly - in which I should return to the supplier. I've even tried to reverse connect the cable between the switch and the 2.6CE but the same symptom occur. That is mem2 bank won't work and mem1 bank will FRAG. This I think can rule out that there's something wrong with the cable.
When booting on mem2 bank, I noticed that the Eject button will stay constant on Orange and I have no idea what this mean. (I've looked at the tutorial on the meaning of the lights but found nothing referred to constant Orange)
I've read some posts on "hosing your EPROM & FlashBIOS" but I don't think that I'm heading in the right direction here. Is EPROM applicable to a a MS chip instead? If I can play normal DVD games (Halo2) on the box (bypassing the 2.6CE) then I think that my EPROM is still fine right?
The bottom line is PLEASE help me in restoring the FlashBIOS. Any comments is welcome.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards
