FRAG - LCLK voltage @1.6Volt on v1.1 xbox

To anyone who can help :-

I've been trying to troubleshoot what is wrong with my installation of the X3 chip in the xbox. I've checked for solder splashes, continuity test (which passed), etc and I can't find anything wrong.

I tested the continuity (http://www.utahxboxrepair.com/pictures/xbox/mobo ) from the X3 chip itself when plugged into the pin header to the bottom of the LPC. So everything is definitely soldered.

I've also checked the voltages from the pins of the LPC and I find that it all corresponds to the voltages given on http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/lpc-diag.php EXCEPT the LCLK (pin 2). LCLK measured on my xbox is 1.6V (multimeter set at 2V scale). Is that what is causing the FRAGGING? I'm lost as to what else it could be..

Anyone care to shed some light? This isn't my first mod - I've done couple of others (1.6xbox) and never taken so long to troubleshoot a FRAG problem. :(

P/S: 5v and 3.3v light on the X3 is on as well.

Re: FRAG - LCLK voltage @1.6V on v1.1 xbox

are you sure you got a v1.6? or is it a v1.6b?
does both diodes light up on the X3 chip?

if you have v1.6b and flashbios v.3.0.0, it would probably explain it.

Re: FRAG - LCLK voltage @1.6V on v1.1 xbox

I meant the LCLK voltage is at 1.6v and I'm on a v1.1 mobo xbox :)

It's not a 1.6 xbox, but 1.6volts.. heh

Anyway yes, both lights on the chip is on.. I think I've practically checked everything.. sigh

The only thing I can think of is that I've got a bad X3 or one without bios in it or SOMETHING. Problem is I can't check whether it's the chip as I have no one to swap it with..

Re: FRAG - LCLK voltage @1.6V on v1.1 xbox

Yea, meant that 1.6xbox should be harder to troubleshoot since you've gotta do the LPC rebuild and on a 1.1 you don't need to.

Back to topic - I do get the external switch to light up. I even tried the backup bios and still FRAG. Switch will show Blue (when On), Red (when Off) and Purple (on backup). Even tried with the switch taken out and still same ol FRAG.

Gonna go sleep.. *sigh*

Anyone help with the LCLK voltage? It should be 0.2V (according to xbox-scene article) but I'm getting 1.6V.

FRAG = bad install or faulty mod. thats it

most of the time its bad install we get very few faulty returns.

you are in UK - send it to baldbouncer or mrmodchips and get them to fit it for you / test it correctly

Im having the same problem! Done my first install on 1.4 box with a 2.6 pin header install. Got frag when booting but ok with chip disabled. Chip flashed ok with programmer and 4983.06 bios. All soldering seems ok and when checking with multimeter i am getting 1.6volts on the same pin but all others are ok?

Has anyone any idea what could be causing this?

I'm also getting this same problem... version 1.0 xbox
i've verrified all the LPC connections, d0, etc.

mod disabled, boots into MS Dash just fine, otherwise, frag.

LCLK gives about 1.6 volts with the modchip disabled and xbox in the MS Dash.

Even with the mod chip TAKEN OUT, it gives 1.6 volts on the pin..

when its fragging, it gives less than 0.1 volt...

Any ideas as to what's happening?

PS3 HD in 360

I have my 60 PS3 HD and i have a 360 that doesnt have a HD in it. If i bought a HD case could i use the PS3 60 gig HD in the 360? Tried to google this and could only find how to upgrade a WD HD.

Re: PS3 HD in 360

Only if the drive in the PS3 was a WD or compatible drive that will accept the FATX file system. Don't ask me what drives are compatible, I just stick with WDBEVS...

I don't think so my 20GB PS3 had a seagate drive and I think only WD BEV drives will work

Does it matter what type to WD you use as long as it is a WD? My laptop has a 40gig and i may use that.

Re: PS3 HD in 360

It should be a BEV*** series (BEVT, etc). I believe some have found other WDs to work, but it's not worth the money to test it. Just grab a Scorpio Blue drive and it should work.
