Ok just got my xecuter 3 chip two days ago put it in had some trouble booting so i read the forums, ended up resoldering my lpc rebuild fixed that problem but now when i am booting with my chip enabled i get a frag red and green.

My chip: Two blue lights on and a green light or red light if chip is protected or not

Lpc to Board: All solder points are correct and secure and have been checked with a multimeter, everything checks out there

Switch: No LAN or HD lights are on, otherwise switch works correctly

Video: Blank screen (no input detected on tv from xbox) original rca xbox cables used

Otherwise: Boots xbox dash fine, No screen on back-up or when chip is enabled

I would appreciate any suggestions on what to do

If your xbox boots normally with the chip disabled, and frags with the chip enabled, the d0 connection is good. If both lights are on, then pins 9/15 and the extra 5v are good. Check your lpc. If the xbox works with the chip disabled and frags with the chip enabled, you have a bad solder joint on your lpc rebuild.

Re: Frag on 1.6a

Thanks for the suggestion but i already checked all my solder points redid them and then check all my connections with a multimeter to be sure. Do you think that it could be the bois?

try booting both bank 1234 and 5678
If you have a 1.6b flashbios 3.0.1 wont work.
You'll have a green light around the eject for about 15 seconds then it'll turn orange.

1234 on on off off off
5678 off on off off off

If you have not flashed your bios yet, it will have cromwell 3.0.*. On a 1.6b board you must have 3.0.3. But it does not frag. If you have a 1.6b board and an old version of cromwell, it just loads a blank screen.

Your chip will frag if you load an invalid bios. But in your original post, it appeared that you have never gotten the chip to boot, it simply frags when the chip is enabled.

"but now when i am booting with my chip enabled i get a frag red and green."

If your xbox frags, it will not show anything on the screen. So fix the frag, and you will get the x3 to boot. Frags are caused by something on the board not working. Since it boots to the orig bios, and frags when the chip is enabled, it is most likely your LPC.

Still no luck

Okay i took about 30mins and carefully checked every point for the rebuild from both sides of the motherboard and everything checks out with my soldering according to the multimeter. I've tried the two bois and i still have the same problem with the black screen and frag and chip is still lighting up blue. Now im begining to think that if the chip has no bios on it would it cause this problem? I was speaking with someone in mirc(efnet) in the chipdealer channel and they said that when chipdealer ships their chip they provide no bios on the chip whatsoever.

This is really begining to anger me

hold in the power and eject buttons till you get to the backup flashbios screen.

Check the pwr/reset pcb. Look at it and see if you have all the plugs in the right places and don't have any bent pins. Also take the sticky tape off the back and look with a magnifing glass and see if you have any solder bridges or splashes.

check the x3 itself for any bent pins.

how am i supposed to flash my chip when the screen comes up black?

Sorry I was responding to the other post on this thread.

For your problem:
I see that you have already said that you checked the soldering on the pins. If I were you I would check pins #13 and #14

hoboz: are you talking about #13 and #14 on the lpc? if you are i already checked those with a multimeter, but i can do probe, logic, or really any other testing that you think would be helpfull

also all 15 bios configs were tryed none worked still fraged on boot

Are you getting a black screen, or is your xbox fragging? these are NOT the same thing.

Its like saying my gas petal is broken because my care won't start... not the same thing... got to get her started before you can do anything else.

Chip being bad yes, no bios on the chip will not cause it to frag... I am getting the same problem on my 2.6 with 1.6 xbox... my lpc plaque was bent when I got it, so Im about to give up and just use the cables :(

Original Bios works when I disable the chip as well so D0 is good... (Ironic that that is usually tha hardest solder point).
