FRAG when x2.6 chip is off

I am trying to setup my xbox (v1.1) with v2.6 chip installed. The chip seems to work fine but I can't get my xbox to boot the original ms dashboard when the chip is off. When the chip is off I get the FRAG and the MS call customer service error message. I tried to use Slayer's 2.6 to restore original MS Dashboard which it does when the chip is on, but frag when it is off. I seem to remember that if I had a renamed dashboard on C: it would boot from that xbe when chip was on and then boot orginal ms when chip is off. From what I remember I had this working when I orginally set everything up but now I can't seem to get it boot when chip is off. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem, Service Required 05, is the message.What can I do? Every thing works if I enabble the chip.

Did you bother to read the code descriptions in the link I posted? You have an unlocked hard drive, you have to lock it for the Microsoft dashboard to boot. Boot to Flashbios and select lock hard drive.
