Frag X3 on 1.0

OK, i have a 1.0 xbox, the original X3 chip.

I have checked my solder points on the alternate boards points on the lpc diagnostics page, so i know the solder points are OK,and most of the voltages check out. Only thing different that i can tell from the LPC diagnostics page is that LClck is labeled at approx 0.2 volts, and mine is 1.6V (with respect to ground). i've tested this point on 2 other 1.0 xboxes and that seems to be consistant.

i've tried testing for shorts (visual inspection and multimeter check) on as many spots as i could think of there being any danger or possibility of a electric signal shorting or jumping any space, but it all looks clean.

To make a long story short (too late), i'm 99% sure of the solder job.

i can boot with mod chip disabled, either standard or backup, though, X3 panel stays red and xbox frags.

Any tips?

Check your soldering.

If your Xbox FRAGS with the X3 connected, check your soldering.

That's all you need to know.

you can never be 100% sure of anything ( 2+2 can equal 5 for large values of 2)..but i just checked it again (in addition to the x dozen times in the past). All the solder points check good continuity to the alternate spots on the board posted at http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/lpc-diag.php and voltages check out ok except for that one LCLK 1.6V. D0 has a good connection, as shown by i can boot with modchip disabled no problem.

Make sure you have the right banks selected on the switch. I know my box frags when i have the switch programmed as on off off off. Try doing either off on off off or maybe on on off off. If u r sure of the solder points, this could be the prob.

Mines does the same thing, but mines goes to the service screen and says code 21. Anybody knows what that means??

maybe if you looked at the list of error codes ?

all of you - FRAG or ERROR CODE = you messed up - its not a faulty chip - the chances are miniscule trust me.

do it right the first time and you wont have trouble.

I agree to The power/eject cable, cause all my solder joints are corrected and when i unplug it, it does the same thing. Also i got this one site that helps with error codes but for this "CODE 21" it doesn't really says nothing. http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/explanation_of_error_codes.htm

but i can boot it with modchip disabled (holding down power) just fine. Gonna order a new chip, just in case, if the new chip fails, gonna just buy a new xbox and sell the old one used to a friend or something

If the front panel 'X' is red then the chip is never arming - this is normally a d0 problem is it not ??

Check the location and solder joint of the d0 - also check you didnt lift the delicate track when you soldered it.

Thanks, and you was right. It was a DO problem. DO turn this Chip bios off & on!

Usually error 21 is a dashboard problem. Download Slayers. There is an option to fix the dashboard. Cleared it up for me. Good luck.
