My box just starting fragging, so I opened it up to check the solder points, and I dont see any bad or missing solder points...all are firmly attached. First when I turned it on, the HD light stayed on and the logo was RED, no I turn it on, and it just shuts off. Any clues there?? Damn this sucks. Thanks for any help!!

well i know u dont want to hear this but... as the Xecuter team says... "about 99 percent of the time u get a frag it's due to a bad soldering issue"

dont know what else to tell u cause unless the chip went bad it has to be a soldering related issue.

were you doing something then it started fragging? can you still get to the flash bios? more then likely though it's gonna be a solder joint

Fraggin box

It work just fine for a long time, then i went to turn it on, and nothing. Now, the HD light flashes for a quick second, then nothing. I dont hear anything revving up. It blinks on, then shuts off. One try only! It doesnt sound like a normal frag..usually it continues to turn on, then off then on then off..., now it just blinks once, and nothing. I opened it up and watched the X3 chip when I turned it on, the blue light flashes for a sec, then shuts off..no action at all.

It sounds like something is shorting out. I had a similar problem where a box was working fine and then all of a sudden the front display light went out and the box stopped working. Are either of the 2 blue LEDs on the chip lighting up ? In my case, the 3.3V wasn't lighting up. I flipped the board and saw a tiny piece of metal bridging a 3.3V pin to another pin. I cleared it out and the box worked fine after that. Check the LEDs. Look for solder solder splashes or stray metal/wire. Also make sure that one of the solder joints didn't come loose. Sometimes the solder comes loose and you have a pin with a small cone of solder on the end and a gap between the pin/solder and motherboard.
