Fraging and 3 boot problem on a 1.0 Xbox

I had every thing working for about a month (X3 Chip, 250 gig HD in a 1.0 Xbox, wires install). Today I turned on my Xbox and it turned on and off 3 times, and then FRAGs. Opened it up checked points including d0 and it was all fine, continuity and all. Put it back together fired it up and noticed that only one LED was on, the 3.3V LED, and the same 3 boot frag thing happened. Tried to boot with chip off the MS dash worked fine. So the chip is not lighting the 5v LED, what do I check, look at, or adjust to fix this problem. Thanks in advance.

are you sure it's the 3.3v led lighting up? if so check the soldering on the red 5v wire that plugs into the chip

Thanks for the help, but it turned out that there was a broken trace on the back of the X3 chip itself. It looked like it was blown off sorta like a fuse would blow, black on both edges where it broke, and. Very strange, I jumped the broken trace and its working now. has anyone else had a trace do that? Oh well at least its working.... for now.

Well the chip is fried, the entire trace for the 5v side popped out and is black. What could have caused this? I measured the Volts and it is only putting out 5 at the pin on the end of the wire connector. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

there are only two possiblities:

1. you did something moronic like putting the chip in backwards.

2. it was defective

Well I know I didn't put it in backwards...... Does Xecuter have any kind of warranty for a defective chip? I really don't wanna buy a new one if I dont have to.

is it possible that you have lighting mods in your xbox? also if you have a poorly designed replacement harddrive it is possible that when it first turns on it will spike up to 20 volts which might be what fried your x3. the same thing can happen with poor fans or lighting mods.

RoaZtedPuppy your wrong another possibility is that the 5v alt point pin shorted on the xbox case, did you do a wire install PierreGTI

actually someone on their website has apparently tested that with a voltometer on several components. however seeing that you are a semi-retired alchoholic i concede.

OK so he does have a wire install, saw it in his first post. This is from the x3 tut
. If you didnt do that then what prolly happen is the 5v alt pin shorted and blew th e trace, correct me if I'm wrong though.

Assassin's Creed will work safely on Samsungs?

I think this is the right place to post this question, but I fully apologize if it is not. I'm wondering if I have a modded Samsung drive, will I be able to play Assassin's Creed Brotherhood without worrying about being banned, and more importantly will it play? How about COD: Black Ops?
