Frags on boot X3 Bios and Backup but not MS Bios

I just installed the X3 into a 1.6 box. When I quick press the power on button, the logo is red and I see the normal xbox dashboard. When I press and hold the power on, the same thing happens. When I press the power and eject at the same time, the same thing happens.

Am I doing something wrong here? I installed everything to the T from the X3 Install guide.

Re: Power on but cannot boot from X3

Nope
Still a red Xecuter logo and the regular Xbox dashboard.

I have not changed the dip switch settings. They are still all to the left. The tutorial for install (NOT bios tutorial) doesn't say anything about changing them at the beginning.

Re: X3 Always RED and only Xbox dash boots

what happens if you do both power and eject to boot up?
it should turn purple and get you to the flashloader.
If not, you have to recheck your work.

Re: X3 Always RED and only Xbox dash boots

Checked solder points and found out I was missing one. Did that and checked everything and it all looks fine. Now quick press results in Frag, long press boots fine, and power + eject STILL does NOTHING! What the hell is wrong with it. How come power + eject don't do anything? What can be causing this.

Re: Power + Eject together doesn't do anything...

If you have a digicam,,,
post a pic of your solder joints and rebuild if you did that.
Since your there, and im here.....
its likely the only way ill be able to see anything.

Also, the power and eject, if pressed at exactly the same time wont do anything at all.
they need to be hit within a split second of one another to boot to the flashloader - a superfast click, click should be heard, not one loud click from both buttons @ once.

Alternately, you should be able to load with a blue "X" light by powering the system with the eject button alone.
If this doesnt boot to the X3 bios (blue X), something else is still wrong.

Im off to bed.. Peace...

Do u have both blue LEDs lit up on the X3 when u switch it on?

Have u tried all the switch bank settings?

Re: Power + Eject together doesn't do anything...

I figured out how to boot to the backup but if frags when I do that. Yes I have both blue led's on when I power up the box. I've resoldered the LPC 3 times so far and it still won't work.

I'm beginning to think this was a waste of money.

chances are your 1.6 box cant boot the 3.03 flash loader which is the one in the off off off off position

you need to boot the 3.01 from the on on off off setting.
from there you can load your X3 bios and play like a kid in a candy store.

your only a small step from being done!

It can be aggrivating when you start off rocky, there is no doubt about it.

I know when I got my X3 it clearly stated on a slip of paper in the chip package that 3.03 wont work with a 1.6 and that the switch had to be set to on on off off to get 3.01 bios loader to appear on screen..
If that paper was missing, it'll get aggrivating quick

so loading the off off off off (3.03 bios) on a v1.6 could cause the xbox to FRAG? I need to load the on on off off bios?

yup yup, from what i have experienced, and others too.
If flashloader 3.03 is @ off off off off and it is by default version 1.6 box's wont boot

So

Teamxecuter loaded flashloadr 3.01 on the other banks
on on off off & off on off off to get us on V1.6 motherboards up and running ready to flash the latest X3 bios and run X3 live

so the little sh*tty pins that i bent will need to be straightened out before i can get my v1.6 to boot? (the pins that plug into the chip from the bios bank selector)

likely yes.
I think it boots to bank 1 when the switch is removed anyhow.
but if any pins are touching, that could be simulating a closed dip switch!

Some games wont work on Certain 360s?

Here's the scenario.

I take the first game I will call it A-Game.

I put A-Game into my friends 360, and maybe 1 out of 20 times it will play in his 360.

I put A-Game into my 360, and it plays fine everysingle time no matter what. Installs, and works fine. A-Game was burned onto a Verbatim perfectly fine.

Both 360s are LT BenQ.

Now I can take a different game...B-Game. Verb, burned perfectly. It will play in both 360s perfectly fine. The first 360 has NO problems whatsoever playing the game.

Anyone want to take a shot in the dark what the problem is? 360 1 has had the lens cleaned also.

There's several games here and there that do the first scenario.

I flashed both 360s my self.

I just can't seem to figure out why the 360 wont play it sometimes, and the other one always will. And then there's some burned games that it always will play with no problems?

The laser in your friend's BenQ is weakening. Pot-tweak or replace the drive.

Re: Some games wont work on Certain 360s?

Why does it always work 100% on some games? I just don't get that. I figured it was the lens, but it's still weird.
