Hey everyone,

I have a 1.6 xbox that I just installed the x3 without the solderless adapter. After putting it all back together I turned it on this is what happened:

1) Turns on flashing orange for approximately one second (the mod chip lights up blue too) then turns off.
2) Turns on flashing orange for approximately one second (the mod chip lights up blue too) then turns off.
3) Turns on flashing orange for approximately two seconds (the mod chip lights up blue too) then turns off.

Has anyone had this happen before or can a least pass on some guidance? Thanks for you help guys!

check all your solderpoints, make sure you got no cold solder joints

Windows Formatted Xbox 360 HDD

So a friend of mine somehow decided to format his xbox360 HDD in windows via a USB adapter

apparently he wanted to "defrag" it

so now i have this 120 Gb NTFS HDD...and i want to get it back to xbox360 specifications

is there some sort of utility that will let me do this?

any ideas?

i tried formatting it on a JTAG, then putting it on the normal xbox....didn't work

Re: Windows Formatted Xbox 360 HDD

I don't think you'll be able to do it.

The HDD hacks are only for Western Digital drives (that I'm aware of), and I'm not sure what all brands MS uses for the official drives... some are Seagate, some Fujitsu, etc, but I'm not sure if they use WD drives. Anyways, the special formatting is done differently with different drive types.

Maybe you can make an image of a good hard drive of a similar model and slap it on the NTFS one? More or less just cloning the good drive I suppose. Maybe i have no idea what I'm talking about...

Re: Windows Formatted Xbox 360 HDD

When the xbox 360 formats a good drive, does clear the contents or does it completely format into the file system? If the latter is true, some kind of hot swap might work?

Re: Windows Formatted Xbox 360 HDD

from what i understand you'll need to zero the drive then flash it with hddss.bin file for that size.. eg-120gb hddss.bin would need to be flashed onto a 120gb drive.
