I have xbox 1.6b and have installed X-Ecuter 2.6 CE w/1.6 LPC Rebuild PCB.

Now, I can boot up with both Cromwell bios (bank1=3.01 and bank2=3.03) with the mod chip on.

When I disable the mod chip, it frags and get a black screen.

What could be done wrong? please advise.

That happened to me as well, I installed a 2.6ce to a v1.6 box...since I have a programmer, I flashed the chip with a flashboios 3.03 on bank 1 and x3_5035 on bank 2. Everything works fine but when turned the chip off it fragged with blank screen. Thinking that it might be a bad solder I re-did the soldering and checked everything and when I tried it again... it fragged with the chip on but worked fine with the chip off. I've been trying to figure out what happened and I finally gave-up. Then, my X3ce came and I tried it on and guess what? It worked on my v1.6 box and probably my 2.6 is f***d up.

Any idea?

Again and again, I recheck my soldering, and they just look very nice job. I am thinking if I remove all the soldering points and redo the whole work, I'm afraid it will just mess up and kill the board.

When I boot up with Cromwell 3.03 and try to flash it with Xecuter 3035 on bank1 and Cromwell 3.03 on bank2 by using the Network Flash Mode, guess what! it works as it supposes to be.

I just wondering if I leave the mod running with suspected problems (Frags with mod disable), will it damages the board? It took me almost one month to get the chip from SysMod, and now WTF, they aren't no longer a official reseller?! Am I getting fake chip from them.:eek:

BTW, I tried the continuity test of the switch (learn from this forum), it has no problem. Then I ran the voltage test of the Pins Header, and something goes wrong. Here are the results:

1=0* (should be 0.5v?)
2=0v
3=0v
4=remove
5=0.25v* (should be 3.3v?)
6=remove
7=3.3v
8=3.3v
9=3.3v
10=3.3v
11=3.3v
12=0v
13=3.3v
14=3.3v
15=3.3v
16=remove

* denote wrong voltage

You realize 3.03 is left on bank 2 even when you boot to it and flash right? Flashbios always flashes bank 1 with the first 512k of the bios file.

No, you will not damage your board. The only reason you would need it to work with the mod off would be to set the time or to play on LIVE.
