Hey
Just got my first chip and so far everything is fine.
Zephyr box, got cpu-key from xell and made a freeboot out of 14699.

Question (stupid probably):
My current xbox dash is 13599, do I need to update it before I flash the freeboot image?

Thanks

How i would do it:

Take the new freeboot.bin and rename it nandflash.bin

Google rawflash 0.4 and put the xenon.self from the zip and the nandflash.bin on a fat32 usbstick.

Put it in the 360 and power it on with EJECT. Wait for xell todo the flashing and when done turn the 360 off.

Unplug 30 seconds and boot it up.

Update as usual from this point

by applying the freeboot 14699 you ARE updating to this version. Apart from the Avatars, you shouldn't need to do anything else.

Ah allright thanks a lot guys.

That's kinda what I thought that this is in fact updating the dash but I was just a bit curious since the usual updates are ~90mb and the nand file is 16mb

Thanks!

The official 90MB update includes kernel patches to 14699 and avatar data (which when uncompressed, take up approx 130MB on your storage device).
