Freezing after five mintues of use

I have an X3 with a 1.6 xbox. Wire install. Everything worked great for a week, but all of a sudden no video or audio. The box is still on, so I don't think it's overheating.

I rebooted, things were fine for five minutes, then same thing. Now, this happens every time. Sometimes five minutes, sometimes it freezes at startup. What I'm doing doesn't seem to matter. I can leave it in the x3 bios screen, and it'll just freeze.

Booting to m$ dash works fine. Just to be certian I left a game running for 2 hours with no problem. Rebooted to x3 and it froze.

I have tried replacing my hdd with the stock drive, using my friend's x3 and both result in a freeze.

Could my soldering be bad even if it's not fragging? Any help is appreciated.

right behind you
not necessarily

i think it may be some dodgy connection

thing about it......electricity heats component.....heat causes component to expand.......expansion causes loss of connection in lpc or elsewhere

The fan is plugged in and continues to run after the system freezes. I read somewhere that a 7200rpm hard drive could generate enough heat to mess up the soldering job. Could that really happen? I'd like to exhaust all of my options before resoldering, but I'm running out of ideas. Thanks for the help.

no a 7200 rpm hd cant mess up the soldering, make sure u have a solid solder contact!!! try cleaning ur power supply and whole case of dust with compressed air can.
