LITEON 74850 Fried a PCB, what to do?

Hey guys,

I was flashing a drive for a customer earlier today, using PMT method with my modified probe v2 (switch on 3.3v line). I was about to probe MPX01 and I just accidentally touched another point on the PCB. There was a spark and the power died on my CK3. CK3 is fine until it is plugged into that PCB only, at which point it just shuts off. Seeing as I had said he could collect it soon after I just swapped the whole console out for one of my boxes.

Bit of a hassle as I know his console is banned. Is there any way I can get the DVD key off of the drive, so I can replace the PCB and flash it with the right key? That way it will actually play games and I can sell it as banned rather than just throwing it in the bin.

Don't mind getting hold of some equipment, it would be useful to be able to do it in the future rather than having to send it off to someone else. Would rather not RGH as I have to buy components and install them to a box I am just going to be selling anyway.

Cheers

I had the same problem. Same method, same modified pmt. I touched another point and there had been a spark. However the pcb was not fried. It did not respond initially but came through after a few tries

Any info on how to read from the chip? Can't find much with a search.

Won't be doing an RGH as it's not much use to me, I would just be selling it anyway. :(

Primo: This was a couple of hours ago and it's still losing power as soon as I plug it in... :/
