As the title might suggest, I did the stupidest thing you could probably do. I was prepping a friend's Liteon 0225 mxic drive for reading when idiotically.. I put the power cable in upside down.

A bad smell and quick shut off later, I realized what I just done. I've been flashing drives as a hobby for my friends since 2009, and never once have I made this stupid mistake. It pretty much happened because of my poor vision, but that's another story all together.

Well the damage has been done, lets not dwell in the past. I'm wondering where I should proceed from here. My friend just bought this 360 new, not even a week ago, with the intend of having me mod it. So it may be possible to replace it with a used or refurbished version, but I haven't even explored those options yet.

My main priority right now is finding out how repairable this board is and how much that will cost. I'm actually prepared to buy this man a brand new 360 if it comes down to it, but I'm exploring my options for now.

TL,DR : Upside down power cable, need experts to assess the damage and offer advice

To my knowledge, this is the only thing that appears to have broken.

Then you need the reset glitch hack, i'm sure the board is beyond repair, but dont throw it away tho spare parts is always good t have.. But you need at least a new pcb, perhaps new laser aswell if it was connected atm.

Thanks, I will consider the Reset Glitch Hack.

I'm going to do some research tomorrow, but if you already know any helpful guides I'd more then appreciate it :)

@OP...go to the 'Buy, Sell or Trade' section and post a request for a repair or look for members in your location....

I think Conie is in CA area....:cool2:
Thanks man, nearly missed your post. I'll post in Connie's thread and if he is unable to help, will post a new thread in that sub-forum  Thanks again.

TeaJunkie is the main man for fixing fried boards, he is based in the UK though, but does worldwide shipping I believe.
Ouch, both these guys are based in the UK, huh? Shipping costs and travel time is gonna be a buzz kill. I'll keep these noted as a last resort, thanks guys!
