I would send it to you to fix, but your all the way out in Australia... I'm kinda hard up for cash too, so i'm trying to do whatever is most cost efficient. You dont sound like your from out there, watcha doin out there anyways?

I figure if i send it to someone, the shipping alone is gonna offset the board cost, so might as well find out whats wrong and trade in the old crap for money.
Nah mate! Don't believe a word you hear about us aussies! We are human, we have 5 fingers, 1 head and occasionaly a sense of humour that others can understand :D

(We do ride kangaroos to work though, that one's true!);)

Oh.. and don't get me wrong, at this point i wasn't hoping to repair the board for you. I was gonna keep it! Ha Ha!

No seriously, if i am not gonna get more than $20 for it, i would rather just give it to someone who deserves it. The freakin shipping would cost me almost as much anyways.

wait, are you talking about the black wire??

did you do a wire mount install rather than a pin adapter install?

yeah, if you give up on that mobo I'll pay you to get my hands on it... Im trying to get parts to fix my motherboard.

But its NOT your motherboard. You can boot to MS Dash right?! That means your motherboard works.

Im telling you pull out that motherboard, resolder those connections CAREFULLY, make sure they are all in the right spot. Regardless if it worked before something changed and sometimes the slightest touches can ruin an installation especally one that was questionable to begin with.

Thanks commodore, but i resoldered whatever might have been iffy already. I did a pin install, and this motherboard was actually not done by me. im thinking its the chip. I'm trying to find a place i can buy the chip and test it, and if it dont work, i hope i can return it.

Hey I'm glad to hear you got it goin!

A quick press is the shortest amount of time you can get. don't hold it in at all. To boot to backup press your power and eject buttons (yes, for cophasors benefit, push power "slightly" before you push eject - I think he's just being picky :D )

That should get you flashbios. You can follow the tutorials from there.

Cheers

A quick press: less than one second/a tap of the power button.

Backup: like rookio said.
