I am attempting to reflash my BIOS due to wrong BIOS (xbox turns on briefly, then off, then on, then off, then FRAGs) and now when I select "Flash BIOS from disc", the process stops after inserting the disc. Let me get specific, "Insert Flashing Disc" flashes, I close the tray with a CD-RW with bios.bin and dummy file of 100mb, "Waiting for Drive" is displayed, then displays the normal screen execpt doesnt flash:

FlashBIOS 3.0.1

I am having a similar problem. I tried first using cd -r with flash bios 3.03 for my newly installed x3. After creating the disk i put into my xbox selected load from cd/dvd then the screen please insert cd - flashing mode appears. next screen is cd rom labe BIOS
then nothing happens. Am i supposed to press a button or wait a long time to find the bios.bin file. Next I tried a dvd +r this time it would just tell me waiting for drive the eject the disk. I there any thing to do about this.

DC Metro
your box might not be able to read the cd depending on your dvd drive version in your box..

Well I kept burning cd's and trying different versions of x3 bios and finally got it right.
For those of you who have this similar problem simlpy follow read the faqs but make sure to burn X3 build 1959 its about 1mb big thats how you know if you have the right file.

I determined I have a version 1.6 during chip installation but the EvoX screen says that I have a 1.1. I then flashed the Xbox with a bios file on the HDD after having my problem: when I select "Flash BIOS from disc", the process stops after inserting the disc. Let me get specific, "Flashing Mode - Insert Disc" flashes, I close the tray with a CD-RW or DVD-R with bios.bin and dummy file of 100mb, "Waiting for Drive" is displayed, then displays the normal screen execpt doesnt flash:

FlashBIOS 3.0.1

So I then flashed my xbox with a bios file on my xbox and now it turns on briefly, then off, then on, then off, then FRAGs. I can get to the FlashBIOS screen and that's it. Has anyone had a problem like this? and if so, how can I flash my BIOS?
and some quick questions, can you flash your chip too many times? how can I flash using my network? I've tried searching but really havent found too many specific tutorials. Thanks.

Alright, Update.....was able to flash using Network. Now I'm back to my original problem, the whole reason why I tried a different BIOS file. The Xbox turns on and there are images on the screen with the chip disabled, it turns on and visuals when eject and power button are held (FlashBIOS screen) but when I tap the power button in hopes to reach my dash, blank screen. Any suggestions?
