If the installer didnt create one then use the sample on from the dashlaunch rar. Just edit it to your liking and then put on the root of your drive, rename it launch.ini.

Ok this is the sample

[QuickLaunchButtons]
BUT_X = Usb:\Freestyle\FreestyleDash.xex
Default = Hdd:\Content\0000000000000000\C0DE9999\00080000\C0DE99990F586558
[Settings]
nxemini = true
pingpatch = true

But now i'm lost on how to change the above txt to my desired launch options (i know how to alter txt but what to?)

Thank you will try this later, need to go out now. The most frustrating thing is you just want somebody here to show you, cause sometimes its difficult for noobs learning off forums

Yeah it can be difficult learning from forums but they are the best way to learn. Hope you get it working ok later!

Try changing the it to this

[QuickLaunchButtons]
BUT_A =
BUT_B =
BUT_X =
BUT_Y =
Default = Hdd:\Freestyle\default.xex
[Settings]
nxemini = true
pingpatch = true

The new updates from fsd 2.0 has the xex named as default, as mine is. You press the launch buttons upon start up or after you press dashboard button in the miniblade.

The type of file it should be is a .ini file, which is a configuration settings file.

Hello again, no luck... I have decided to start from scratch, latest freeboot installed, xex menu up and running, now could someone take me step by step to get dash launch 2.01 booting on start up?I have dash launch 2.01 in rar format, when i open it there are loads of files inside, which one(s) should i shove on my hdd1, a description of the files would ber helpful, then where do i put my config file. I have done this before, pressed on default xex followed onscreen instructions it patched fine, the files in the folder are as follows:

Files folder
Media folder
default.xex (The one i pressed to patch)
launch.ini

Can't even boot manually by pressing on default.xex via xex menu, it just gives me onscreen prompts to patch.

Grab the installer folder from the rar and place on a usb stick. Place the launch.ini file you have configured on the root off the hdd your using. Run the default.xex in the installer folder on the usb and follow the onscreen prompts.

get the installer and place it on the root of your internal hdd where you can run it,
open the installer folder and click on the default.xex and follow on screen instructions.
The installer will prompt you if it needs to update the freeboot patches and will give you an opportunity to configure the new options edit and place launch.ini on the root of your hdd..
thats it your xbox will reboot after running the installer that it then your done...

Strange, What does your launch.ini file look like, and where is it placed? Look at the launch.ini now after youve ran the installer.
