Lost DVD key on kernel 9199 without JTAG
Hi all,
I got my first XBOX without a DVD drive and I bought new drive for it. When I tried to play original game it said "if I want to play this game put in XBOX 360". I did not understand why is this doing that but finally I found that the DVD key in the drive must match with the DVD key in the console (keyvault). I tried to JTAG it but it did not work as this has a Kernel 9199. I would like to get the DVD key out from the console and put it in to my dvd drive and restore back the whole thing into original condition.
I would like to get some help if this is possible. If it is necessary I can invest a little bit more money in case when I need to buy some mod chip which would do it. I was thinking to desolder the FLASH from the motherboard and dump on a FLASH programmer tool but I don't know if that would work either.
I would very appreciate if somebody could tell me what can be done with this as a non JTAG-ed 9199 dashboard.

there is no way of retrieving the dvd key with that version of dashboard.
you might be able to pay for someone to remove the flash chip from the board and read the chip in a programmer of some sort.
but this may be very pricey

I am an electronic engineer and I can take off the chip and read it. Would it help? How can I get the DVD key then?

even if you got the chip off AND could read it externally
you can't get the DVD key?

because the 32 digit DVD key is encrypted by your CPU key

That is what I was afraid.
What if I completly replace the Flash with another XBOX which is broken? Would it work? Also If I buy any modchip or infectus or I don't know how they called would it help? or is this is bricked now?

there is NOTHING you can do to make that motherboard play games EVER again
unless someone developes a new hack for 9199 kernel

I have an idea but I would need an advise if it would work.
As I said I have a reader/Flasher for the FLASH chip. I have a zephyr with the mentioned official 9199. What if I flash the XELL.bin into my FLASH and take the CPU key and then I will able to decrypt the DVD key from the original dump.

So if I would have the CPU key then I would able to decrypt the DVD key from the original backup. Am I right?

you cannot flash xell onto a motherboard with a 9199 kernel
it WILL NOT boot because the 8xxx update and above blow CPU fuses that xell relies on
once again, your xbox will NEVER play games again
