try saving a cd to the xbox and then ftp to the xbox and find out where it is by searching the folders, if you cant find it then its likely that you cant...

There is an app I saw a long time ago. Xbox Soundtrack Editor I believe. I know it would ftp into your box, but not sure what all it would do. That may let you make custom soundtracks. Hope this helped.

That is the correct directory. In this folder, there is a file called ST.dat which means that you probably need to copy the music by an audio cd because if not, there's no data for the music. I know it's boring to do and takes forever, just recently burned and copied a load of audio cd's to my XBOX.

You can ftp music to anywhere, but they wont play in games unless they have been copied to your xbox from the msdash with an audio CD.

I'm pretty sure the soundtrack editor app will do all this for you. All you have to do is convert whatever audio into .wma format.

I have .wma files, and when I moved them into the ffe000 music folder, they didn't show up in the msdash.

No, you have to use the soundtrack editor application. There has to be a list made with them for the xbox to see them. This app will do that.
