FTP Question

Not sure where to post this but decided to put it here but please move if needed

All I want to know it if Im ftp'ing from my xbox to the pc can I watch films that I have stored on the PC hard drive or do I have to copy it to the Xbox 1st? Basically I just want to access mp3 and films on my pc via my xbox. Is this possible? How easy is it? Any info would be great

You can do this, assuming you have downloaded and installed xbmc, you can set it up to browse your network, you can share the folder on your pc with the videos on it, and stream them over the network, there are other ways aswell. Check Xbox-scene.com tutorials section for how-to's

I have had someone tell me that already but cause Im like a child I want to run Avalaunch as my dashboard not Xbox media Center so is there a way to have Avalaunch as my dashboard and Xbox Media Center Run off it like an application and not a boot dash board.

Plus my m8t cannot use his infared remote after installing the the chip is this him or does the chip disable it.

After Avalaunch comes up you would launch XBMC as an application.

Thats what I mean did not know if XBMC was a dashboard or not I just wanted it to run like an application once Avalaunch starts.

Makes me laugh havent even installed the chip yet lol

Need Guidance

So a friend turned me on to this website, and being new to computers and modding i had a few questions:

Which tutorials do i follow and in which order?(theres like 20 of em, each for a different mod)

Where can the chip be obtained and for how much?

How much updating will be needed and how often?

I have a 360 elite, from about 3 yrs ago, and basically my interests would be backed up games, and playing em from your hard drive, with stealth tech so im still able to play on live.....So all in all which tutorials do i follow and in which order?
