hi - i've had a trawl through the forum but couldn't find anyone with the same issue as this.
the problem seems to be that i can only see the shares (C, E, F, G) over FTP when XBMC is running.
If i try to FTP to the server at any other time when the xbox is powered on (sat at the evox menu, in another application - xbparttition for example, etc) then there are no shares listed.
i can see that FTP is running on the xbox by checking the correct TCP port is responding, but those darned shares don't pop up in my FTP client until xbmc is running.
some more info if this will help:
i have tried multiple ftp clients (Windoews Explorer, Cute FTP, Coffee Cup FTP).
i am connected to my xbox via a simple non-switching hub. i can see the device on the network and also see that the TCP port is available for FTP.
when xbmc is running FTP works perfectly.
hope that's enough to go on - if you need any more info just post on here and i'll try my best.
any help would be much appreciated.
thanks!
