ftp shares only visible when xbmc running

hi - i've had a trawl through the forum but couldn't find anyone with the same issue as this.

the problem seems to be that i can only see the shares (C, E, F, G) over FTP when XBMC is running.

If i try to FTP to the server at any other time when the xbox is powered on (sat at the evox menu, in another application - xbparttition for example, etc) then there are no shares listed.

i can see that FTP is running on the xbox by checking the correct TCP port is responding, but those darned shares don't pop up in my FTP client until xbmc is running.

some more info if this will help:

i have tried multiple ftp clients (Windoews Explorer, Cute FTP, Coffee Cup FTP).
i am connected to my xbox via a simple non-switching hub. i can see the device on the network and also see that the TCP port is available for FTP.
when xbmc is running FTP works perfectly.

hope that's enough to go on - if you need any more info just post on here and i'll try my best.

any help would be much appreciated.

thanks!

Already tried both the options but still no joy.

Anyone else had this problem?

Must be to do with the xbox as it's the same on multiple FTP clients and multiple machines. the only common factor is the xbox.

Yeah - it's *sooo* user friendly if you need to copy over 7 or 8 folders in one go!!!

/sarcasm off.

You can queue jobs on FlashFXP so you can get all the transfers set up and then hit go - what's easier than that!

Flash FTP worked a treat - straight in there, all shares / folders visible.

Martin - Many thanks for your help here.

Now it's time to see why other clients are being pap!

It's something to do with FXP mode being supported in FlashFXP better than other clients - I think!

Can't read drive

Hi,

I'm trying to flash a TS-H943 drive with jungle flasher 0.1.74 beta using a ck3 pro. I'm having a few problems:
1. When I launch JF it says can't install portio32.sys driver , so I installed it manually and is showing in device manager as working properly but JF still can't run it!
2. Next I get a no comports were found error!
3. JF then launches and detects my card but no drive is showing!
4. When I search for the VIA driver to change the name I can't find it even though it is showing up in driver properties as being there! I tried showing all hidden folder and files but still no luck.

I have re-installed JF and portio32.sys driver but still nothing! The card is working fine as it also shows up in the device manager!!!
My OS is windows 7 so not sure if there are any issues with the OS?

Any help much appreciated!

Re: Can't read drive

just an idea - but since you are trying to use Jungleflasher - why not.................................... READ THE JUNGLEFLASHER TUTORIAL!
you'll find it in the downloads section!

It explains ALL the pre-requisites for using JF

follow the tutorial! and you wont have ANY of the problems you've listed!

1. Try running as admin! pg 7-8
2. No Comports is NOT an error! its telling you you have no com ports! FAQ's pg 171
(if you are flashing a 7 series liteon - plug your CK3 into USB! install ck3 drivers (T-x website ck3 instructions!)
this will give you a virtual Com port) should be similar to example on pg 92
3. NO DRIVE? - because you dont have portio running! (it self installs as JF runs! On-the-Fly!) pg 7 tell you about what files must be where!)
4. VIA Driver removal pg 151 (or link on pg 7)

If your win 7 happens to be x64 and not x86 then you must follow additional instructions pg 178 (or follow link on pg 8 )

Re: Can't read drive

Hi,
With regards to my problem I have just noticed that in windows 7 (not sure if this also applies to other windows versions) .NET Framework 3.5.1 is only partially turned on so I have turned it on manually and hopefully this will help
