Hi there im new to this forum.

Ive just installed a new 2.6 chip in my 1.6 version xbox. I then connected my xbox via crossover cable to my PC to my NIC (network) card.

Ok heres the story

When i send information from my PC to XBOX the transfer speed is really fast.

However when i wish to back up a game from the XBOX to PC the transfer rate is really slow like 5kbs. I dont no why this is but ive even tryed copying the game to the xbox harddrive and then copying the files over to the PC. However this is really slow as well

Heres a sumary below

PC TO XBOX = FAST
XBOX TO PC = SLOW (approx 5 kb sec)

Any help would be apprectated.

Thanks and hope some one reads this message

It might be a firewall issue but... since you are transfering data I doubt it.

Copying the game first should make it faster... but for you it doesn't.

What FTP program are you using. Many people have really good results with WS_FTP.

Personally I would try and use the command prompt in XP (what I think your running)

With the command prompt you can rule out any application "hang ups" that might be involved. Also where are you trying to save on your PC. It might have a slow write speed... not 5k though:) ... or maybe you are maxing out your RAM or virtual memory... you can check this with performance monitor.

Try the command prompt and if it still happens write back!

Lastly you might want to try a new cable... especially if you made your own!
