ftp troubles

ok, i got my x3 all up and running, i have it flashed with 1959 and it goes fine. So now in go to try and ftp in using the ip address in the bottom left and flashfxp tells me ,"Connection failed (Connection timed out)". ANy help? sry i it has been asked before

oops almost forgot, i am using a linksys WRT54G Router. Plz help me out

Can I Sign Into XBOX Live On A Friends 360?

Sorry if this is a noob question, but my friend wants me to re-flash his arcade with the new LT firmware. The problem is that he doesn't have XBOX Live (I don't think) so I was wondering if I could use my lil bro's gamertag and sign into my friends 360? I'm gonna need to do this simply coz when I flash the console back to stock, I need to connect to XBL so I can run a system update before flashing with the new LT firmware. What happens if I connect to XBL and it doesn't bother asking me for a system update? Does that mean I can still flash the new LT firmware? Will there be a chance of him being flagged/banned?

yh you can you need to recover your lil bro's profile on he's 360 you will need your lil bro's gamertag,email,password.

it will ask for the update.

Yeah, I thought that's how you do it... in terms of it will ask for an update, I already flashed a different friends 360 with LT and when I flashed it back to stock and connected to XBL it DIDNT ask me for an update? I asked a experienced guy from this forum and he said that it should still be OK and that he probably already had the NXE update or something...

It was most likely updated when he played a newer game so it may already be flagged you can still flash LT

I don't know why people worry about flashing it back to stock to update. I flashed mine to LT and went on xbox live and then updated. I have had no problems yet.

There's no need to update before flashing with LT. Any checks run while updating can be run during normal Live use as well.

while that may be true, c4eva himself said to update while stock before flashing and to be wary of any future system updates if u have lt on your box.

you're always better off flashing back to stock to update, always better to be safe than sorry!

Yes, we've established that. The question now is why that's the case.

New updates could institute new checks, of course, but for now, they're all known. Are there checks run by the 8955 updater that can detect LT, or was C4E's warning simply for future updates?
