I have no problems FTPing via crossover cable directly to my PC by I've got a network hub and I'd like to be able to FTP WITHOUT having to go to my network card settings every time and changing the settings back and forth

what is your question? if you need to know what IP to use then use NO DHCP server on both the pc and xbox and then set the ips to like pc= 192.168.0.100 and the xbox= 192.168.0.101 and the settings on the xbox need to be set to static. Also a router would work better bc all you would need to do is set both the xbox and pc the DHCP enabled and enter in the router addy and the you would be all set.

I guess my question is: using a network HUB can I change settings so that I can connect to my X box anytime WITHOUT having to change my network card setting each time. My network card has to be set to : detect IP address automatically so that my PC can get online, and to connect to my X box I have to configure the network card to specific settings. I'd like to be able to do either WITHOUT having to change settings.
