I've just glitched my second SB Jasper. First one went all ok. Second one, if I use the VGA cable the screen shows as red. Can still see everything but with a red tinge. If I use HDMI, it's normal. Not sure if vga worked previously. I see alot of post of no/black screen. Has anyone come across this ?

I've seen this happen on RROD repaired consoles that have been reflowed, just before the started to RROD or give no Video. So possibly check for damage on the GPU or if you let it over heat, while the console was in pieces. As the GPU can get very hot (I learnt that when i burned my hand this morning!)

Have atteached pics. I've let it run with HDMI and everything is fine. Back on to VGA and red tinge. Might try with component/composite and see if it still the same. I have repaired a fair few RROD's and quite possibly it could be on the way. Last resort will be to reflow. Not sure why it works on HDMI and not VGA.

I just tried it on component and it doesn't show at all. Black screen. It boots up, but nothing on screen. Back on HDMI and it's fine. So i'm thinking possibly not a RROD problem. Might have to unglitch to see if it's RGH related and see if that works, if there's no other suggestion.

It was doing the red tinge when STBY_CLK wasn't damaged aswell. Only reason it got damaged was when I checked all my points to make sure they were ok. I don't think I've disturbed anything. Gone over the board to check for any solder splash. All seems ok. Googling the red screen, shows that alot of ppl are saying it's about to RROD. What a pain.

Check the components directly behind the AV socket. It's where you've been soldering near with the coolrunner, so possible you might have dropped a little solder on there?

I have checked everywhere. Cleaned the MB aswell. Still no go. Could be related to other posts where they are saying it's booting up but with black screen. Still researching before I unglitch to test.

xbox is also freezing. It may sometimes get to the dash and then freeze or just as the boot anim is finishing. Can't do anything right now, but tomorrow i'll remove everything and flash back orig nand and start again. Thanks for your help Martin C. I'll update when done.

Ok flashed back orig nand. removed all wires and powered up. Still red when boots up with vga, hdmi still ok. So it's not the RGH. Have reflowed board concentrating on GPU/HANA, and still red tinge. Hmmmm.. I'll inspect the mother board again.

The reason is that VGA uses native RGB whereas HDMI doesn't.

Look at this:

If you're getting a red hue it means one of the other colours is missing. Check the Green and Blue to make sure that you don't have a short, either on the board or your cable. They are separate pins to the Component and Composite, and of course a separate socket to HDMI.
